I heard a rumor that we landed a juco linebacker recruit today.

Indeed we have. Michael Bibbs committed this past Saturday on his visit. Originally signed with Arkansas, so probably a pretty good pickup.

Speaking of recuits, Nebraska just lost their sixth commit who changed his mind and is back in Miami fold with their new coach. That is a lot of switching from Nebraska. This year they ran a very organized effort by researching grades, relationships, etc of all their recruits - they ran it like a job application service. Maybe John Blake going to North Carolina took away some the potential recruits fervor. John is a wonderful recruiter, and now he has gone with Butch Davis. Nebraska is losing some ground....

Some info. Looks like a good pickup. Great speed for a linebacker. http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=350&p=8&c=1&nid=2432207
The free part of a rivals site lists him at 6-2, 210, 4.42.

Wesley,
I can count 5 recruits who have either backed out or were basicly told to look elsewhere.
Ian Harris ***TE- Committed during the season and then switched his commitment to Missouri around November. In the last week, he switched again to Texas.
DeAndre West ***S-Committed during the season. Nebraska completely backed off when the realized he had no chance of qualifying.
Wallace Franklin ***JC WR-Originally committed to Nebraska out of HS. Committed in December but again wasn't going to make grades. Nebraska dropped him
Patrick Grant ***DE- Committed to Nebraska during the season and this was John Blake's recruit. Have heard different stories on him. Some say he left b/c of Blake leaving, but others say he wasn't going to make grades either. 6' 4" 220 guy with 4.55 speed. He just visited Iowa. I'll be interesting to see where he goes and if he can qualify.
Chris Perry ***DT - Originally committed to Miami and then switched his committment to Nebraska and now has again switched back to Miami.
So far, even with the decommittments, a real solid class which addressed bigtime areas of need along the defensive side of the ball. Would like another speed/shifty WR, another DE, TE. A top 15 class on signing day for both Scout and Rivals.

Top 15 is certainly impressive. Here's to hoping Chizik can do the same in years to come. :)
