Just got back from a vacation and I sure missed a lot. Anyone have a recap for me?

It sounds like we played like dogcrap at Colorado.

After reading some posts, it sounds like people were complaining about the crowd for the KSU game. When I looked at the Box Score it showed an attendance of 14,356! Was there really this many people? If so, that's amazing! But was it quiet or what?

Also, any new football commits?

Anything else I missed? More ISU ticket talk?

In the former days of Cyclone athletics - ya miss a week and ya didn't miss much.

In today's world - you miss a week and ya miss a lot!

The losses to CU and K-State were ugly yet grounding. Reminded us we're dealing with a young, inexperienced team.

Lots of various football chatter with a new coach hired, commits, possible recruits, etc. Too much to summarize...or at least - too much to retain to quickly summarize. :)

The KSU crowd wasn't bad. The team played like crap and KSU really took us out of the game. The crowd could have done much better but there really wasn't much to cheer about in a 16 point half.

Correct. Imagine the crowd for the Baylor football game from '05 - but with a better showing this time around.

He's been playing the whole "lets take our ball and go home" card for the past couple of days. He suggests that our AD is taking advantage of Hawk Fan.

The SQUAWK-EYE nation just can't figure it out. Cyclone fans and JP don't give a rip about them. They need to get over themselves.

It has long been my opinion that nothing ruins the so-called Super Bowl of Iowa more than JERK-EYE fans.

You can't have it both ways. Everyone knows that season ticket sales wouldn't increase much (maybe 10-15%) if Pollard wasn't holding the ISU/Iowa game hostage. Pollard is counting on Hawkeye fans to buy some of the tickets. Nothing wrong with that; we'll see if they do it.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. There's no way I'd pay for season tickets if I was a hawkeye fan, just like there's no way I'll pay next year if Pollard does the same thing with the Nebraska game. Guarantee you I'll still be at the game in 2008 though.
