Too bad we do not have a baseball team - spring training games starts soon for Big 12 teams.

ohh I agree CycloneWorld, it is tough, tough as hell to watch after that, we played great in those games, but this is the kind of team that is going to play great at times and horrible at times. I hope that we stop playing horrible soon, and I think we will, we aren't getting the contributions we need, not at all. Only Wesley has really stayed consistent out of anyone, hopefully they have lived and learned and can get out of the shooting slump and play smarter, I would love to see that, I just hate to see people coming down so hard so quick on a team who has probably exceeded by expectations. I didn't expect much from this team, Wesley has come in and been great, Hubalek is ten times better than he was last year, Rahshon is a leader and the game will come to him eventually, Michael has a great shot, but he has to slow down and let the game come to him as well. Corey is the only one who has not lived up to expectations, but someone out of that class was bound to!

McIntosh is not a Big XII caliber player. There's a reason he was left over when Mac found him, nobody wanted him.

I'm starting to question McDermott's personnel decisions a little. Ceasar gets PT in a conference game?! C'mon now.

I really thought we would beat #238 Colorado in Boulder. Phsaw, my bad.
Now if we lose to Baylor and Missouri, we will have come full circle to mediocrity, just like last year, only worse. These are two really big games coming up in Ames. We better win or we will be an embarrassment.I wish Mike would drive to the basket at the start of the game instead of when we have already lost.

Yeah. Because the regulars totally played better than him.

WJ was a "left over" and he's doing okay for us.

What's wrong with Ceasar getting PT...no one else wanted to play.

We got on McCarney's *** for not playing guys behind our terrible line and when GMac goes out and replaces guys playing terrible, that still doesn't fly with some people.

I'm glad McDermott sat them, they deserved it.

Questioning G-Mac already? I love it. It's like being critical of a chef who was asked to prepare a 3 course meal at 1am and only had a gas station to buy groceries from. It's just unfair.

As I stated earlier - if the fans ran the program Jiri would've been shipped off a couple months ago. And we wouldn't have one single conference win because of it.

Our guards are very suspect. We knew that going into the season. We've been spoiled with some pretty good guard play in recent years (Tinsley, Stinson, Blalock). Now those tides have turned.

I do see the guys progressing - just not as fast as we want them to and thought they would. In the last couple games, I think Mike Taylor hasn't made a shot until sometime in the 2nd half.

That's a much bigger reason to our losses than Corey. I've also watched W. Johnson gravitate away from some of his strengths and fire up more 3's. It would be nice if Clark would give us some offense one of these days.

This team wins and loses as a team and right now - no one is really playing all that well.

Until you can put on an ISU uniform and perform better than Cory at the big 12 level, I don't think its fair to him to get all over his case. It seems people just find a guy to blame our losses on (case in point, we all ragged on Taylor at the beginning of the year, than Jiri for awhile). McIntosh just needs to find his Niche. It's very hard to adjust to a new coach, system and level of play. What the team does NOT need is criticism all the time. Do you think he intends to make bad plays or turn the ball over?

This is the saddest thread that I have read in a long time. I completely believed when I saw all the responses to the title of the thread that it would be Cyclone fans upset about somebody totally bashing somebody that is ripping one of our players. Instead I see all kinds of people piling on to a guy that's been put in a really tough situation. I understand that he has played at a much lower level than everybody (myself included) expected him to. However, he's trying to do what is asked at him and we obviously don't have too much depth at his spot to take time away from him. Kind of like somebody said this fall when everybody was bagging on Shaggy, it's not his fault he's the best we've got at that spot right now. To top it off, he's a guy that loves being here and is probably the most team oriented guy that we put out there. Sure we'd all love him to put up some points, assists, etc, but right now he doesn't seem capable of doing that for us. It's still no reason to make heat of the moment criticisms of him and cry for his scholarship to be stripped. Hopefully in the next year our depth will be such that he doesn't need to be getting the minutes that he's gotten this year (unless he improves), but in the meantime try being supportive of a team that everybody expected to struggle greatly this year. Hopefully this was just a heat of the moment thread where people were upset watching the game and isn't indicative of how we would normally act as ISU fans.

Agreed. It's easy to lose sight of expectations that ppl had for this team, and now that they are proving to be true fans are becoming upset. Either way, I am proud to see my Cyclones playing hard for 40 minutes (most of the time). Big difference from recent history.

On a lighter note. Please up your posts Tigerhoops, I can't get enough of...

Thanks tigershoops31 for the best post in this thread. I dread coming to CF lately. It's sad that supposed fans are ripping on the players like this. I wonder how these players, who have made a committment to this university and the program, who work their ***** off in practice trying to get better, who haven't caused a single problem for this university, would feel about our fans after reading some of the bilge on this board.

If this is "heat of the moment" reactions, maybe folks should simmer for a day or two before posting anything on here. Or maybe the moderators should be more aggressive at removing useless posts that just rip on the players.
