I would imagine we will look a lot like Texas with a good strong running game and quick passing.

A lot of you may disagree on this, but I think we will see a Florida type offense. McFarland seems to try and balance things. And Meyer can run as we have seen. We will be about 60% pass I bet to help set up our run.
Now I realize that Florida is run first then pass, but they are the quick hitting offense that we think we will expect from ISU next season. Short quick routes all over the field, with some option runs to spread things out. I am very excited to see something like this from the team.
If you think about it, you take the offense from the National Championship team, and the defense from either Super Bowl team. In theory, ISU should be the best of the best in time.

I would like to see some I formation once in a while. Having a fullback as a lead blocker may help some. Maybe the fullback could even get a few carries when he is not the only back in the backfield. Running a shotgun draw as our only running play isn't going to fool anybody.

I'll go for the offense that gets us 3.5 yards per down. | Attempt #3

Just hope we can find a back who hits the opening quickly...and a line that can provide a quick opening!

I agree completely. When Ryan Kock was running the ball, he hit the hole fast and hard and got yards. Backs like Stevie Hicks just danced around and got nailed for losses or no gains too many times. I know that there may not be gaping holes to run through, but Kock could, so why not someone else?

We will work to stretch the defense both horizontally and vertically. We will strive for a balance attack but it will be the pass setting up the run (not vice versa). Those of you expecting us to pass 60 plus times a game...that will not happen.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
