Anyway back to the online gambling, uncle sam wants his cut that is all this has to do with. He isn't getting income from the online gambling sites because non are based in the US.

I really hope something gets changed about it because I can't stand playing for free
All the government needs to do is legalize it...and the US based online sites will be numerous. The reason online gambling sites are non-US is because it's not legal to run that type of business here.

Yeah I know
So uncle sam saw how profitable it was and how wide spread it's use in the US had become that they put a stop to it so they can get in on the income too. lol

What I really think is ridiculous is that the government is now telling people how they can and can't spend their own money...

Someone please tell me why cigarettes, which kill thousands and thousands every year, are legal and gambling with my own money online is illegal? I understand that some people get adicted and cause financial ruin but they aren't dead like they would be with cigarettes.

Oh, but come on! They've been doing that since 1776. Do you realize that tea is taxed, but coffee isn't? All due to tariffs pointed at the Brits b/c we couldn't stand the "older brother" 250 years ago.

I'll answer my own question...MONEY. Phillip Morris makes too much money to be shut down. Their lobbying power is incredible. Hell, they still don't admit that cigarettes cause cancer!

The only way to feel better about this is to sit down together, smoke some cigars, or have a dip, drink some beer, and play some hold-em. Now we just need to organize this event, and shuffle up and deal.
$10 buy in 20 min blinds.

I'm in.
Dave, hope it wouldn't hurt your feelings to lose to someone younger.

The only time I've played in there is the Tuesday morning tournys.
I think they have 11 tables and it has been very hard to get in the tournaments. They let cash game players sign up first.

It's not bad...but the players are. I was there last week playing $3/$6 LHE and there were two players who saw 100% of the flops. I think they each lost a few hundred bucks.

It is the same way at the riverside and meskwaki poker rooms. but a couple weeks ago when I was at meskwaki they had their new poker room done and they have sit and go tournements now, which are the kind I liked to play most online. Will need to try them out
