The kid realized he probably wasn't going to play so he made the best decision for him. I'd rather play at a smaller school than watch from the bench for 4-5 years. At least I would have some good stories for my grandkids if I actually saw the field.
Wow. That's all I can say about that. I was talking about he Humboldt boys. I know alot of teams have interest in some of them because they won the state title. My sister goes to school with them, so I have some information but nothing really concrete.
I saw Jay Tepley of Xavier play basketball at City High in Iowa City a couple of weeks ago. He's tall, massive and slow down the court, but he has nifty feet, used his body well and was very strong to the hole. I think he had 29 points and a bushel of rebounds as underdog Xavier nipped City. I'm not a talent evaluator, but he seems like a "good get" for UNI, assuming he won't be asked to "pull"!
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please. - Mark Twain
I would guess if a player asks for an honest assessment from the new coaching staff on where they fit in, they will get an honest answer. ISU needs a big time running back, and he may have not fit in and couldn't or didn't want to convert to another position.
