    Re: Please bench Grossman !

I have heard from a player on the team that the difference in Grossman and Greise in practice is astronomical, Greise can't make all the throws, Garcia may be an option though...

This is exactly what Lovie Smith said after Grossman "proved" his detractors wrong late in the season. Lovie basically said Greise was never an option and wanted the pressure on Rex to see how he would respond.

The only bad thing I could see about Garcia is that it's a short term fix. Maybe Rex learns and gets better for next season...

When Griese played this year, he did worse than Grossman - hard to believe. I think they need an upgrade as the cupboard is bare at qb. They can draft Zac Taylor - he looks like he can play mudball in Bears Stadium pretty good.

I pray they trade/dump gross-man. He had 1 non-bad game in the playoffs. The defense gave up a bunch of third downs, but at least they kept the Colts out of the endzone for the most part.

Too bad gross-man couldn't say the same.

Grossman can make all the throws? You coulda fooled me yesterday (though he certainly didn't fool any Colts d-backs). That was possibly the most unimpressive 20-28 performance I can remember in awhile! I'm guessing the wet hands and wet ball had a greater effect than we'll ever know; both Manning and Grossman appeared to be "hanging" their passes out there...

A couple of examples come to mind. Manning's 53 yard TD pass to R. Wayne required Reggie to come to a complete stop for the ball. Grossman had Berrian, but hung it up so long that Bob Sanders had the chance to get there. There were others as well...

The OC is not the problem... He can't call big plays as Grossman is not capable of working with those imaginative plays.. He has to call what his quarterback can do and not go above the QB's skills...

Manning was wrapped up when he let that one go, so I'm not sure that wasn't what caused it to float. As for Sanders' pick...that one was definitely hanging. Grossman had what, like 3 fumbles under center? I don't know if that was the rain or his nerves (or both), but he was obviously having a hard time holding onto the ball.

Was I the only one that cringed every time Rex attempted a pass longer than 5 yards? The majority of his passes seemed to merely float out there. I know it was wet and I'm sure he had nerves, but he's supposed to be a NFL QB. No zip, no arm strength...oh never mind. I'm just another frustrated Bears fan.

    Oh...I agree.

However did ya see how many ducks Manning threw too? He's just more accurate at duck-throwing then Rex.

exactly. Manning did not have his best day throwing the ball, either. I think the rain affected both qb's more than we think. This game was lost by the Bears D. Their inability to cover the checkdown route was the key. the colts were able to put together long, sustained drives that wore them out.

    The Bears Still Suck Polka
    written by J.Krueger-sung by OTTO
How many times must we take this disgrace
Another Bears fan throwing insults in our face
The Packers are the greatest team to ever play the game
Even if from time to time they've been a little lame
How could you ever love a team with Jim McMahon
Not even Porky Pig was as big a ham
They got a reputation that's mostly based on luck
    The Bears…Still…Suck
The Bears still suck, the Bears still suck
The Bears still suck, the Bears still suck
They really really really really really really suck
    Yes the Bears…Still…Suck
If you drive to Soldier Field they make you pay a toll
For cripes sake they only won one lousy Super Bowl
They make fun of Wisconsin, but we don't get upset
Where do you think that they're all headed every chance they get
We don't really hold a grudge 'cause this is all in fun
As far as football rivalries we're both number one
Still we wouldn't mind seeing Ditka run over by a truck
    'Cause the Bears…Still…Suck
The Bears still suck, the Bears still suck
