Re: W/L Outlook on Remaining Games
Once again, I think we are getting ahead of ourselves and setting up some disappointment.
We could easily lose every game left on the schedule. I very much doubt that will happen, but this team is not head and shoulders better than anyone in the conference and that includes Colorado and Nebraska.
HOPEFULLY we can pull a few more wins together and surprise in 1 or 2 games as well. To say any game is a game we "should" win this year in conference play is just not realistic.

Re: W/L Outlook on Remaining Games
Come on guys...we always play so well at KSU. I agree, that's probably a loss.
If we take care of business at home, we end up 7-9...which I still think would get us into the NIT (and probably a home game). If we can steal one on the road then we end up 8-8 which I think is a lock for the NIT.
That loss AT CU really hurts right now.

Re: W/L Outlook on Remaining Games
Here is a link to that DMR article...link G-Mac quotes...
"We talked the other day," McDermott said Monday. "We're probably not going to win the Big 12 (season) championship - we've probably dug ourselves too deep a hole for that to be realistic - so it's very important in moving forward that we position ourselves from a seeding standpoint for the conference tournament."
"If we can beat Missouri, we basically have a couple-game lead on them, because we have the tiebreaker," McDermott said, "so we'd like to try to separate ourselves from the bottom of the pack as best we can."
"We stole one from them there," McDermott said. "That game was a possession or two from us losing by 20."
"We made just enough plays to hang around and put ourselves in a position to win at the end," McDermott said.
Player quotes...
"We haven't had the best season this year, but we're trying our best to come in sixth or seventh place, so we won't have to play the hardest team right off the bat," junior Rahshon Clark said. "We know we're not going to be in the top five, so every game is a must- win for us in that respect."
"Wow, that means if you're not in the top four, you've got to play every day," said first-season point guard Corey McIntosh. "It's very important, then, to win as many games as we can now (in order) to get a decent seed for the tournament."
"I think we can finish in the upper half," McIntosh said "Hopefully a couple more upsets will get us right there."

Re: W/L Outlook on Remaining Games
If this team finishes 8-8, I'll run naked through the streets. Here are my percentage chances of where we finish:
3-13 1%
4-12 10%
5-11 40%
6-10 30%
7-9 10%
8-8 5%
9-7 2%
10-6 1%
11-5 1%
Unfortunately I think we are going to land in the 8-9 game come Big 12 time which means playing the #1 seed 2nd round if we win.

We match up so poorly with K-State that its gonna be "Mission Impossible" to beat the Wildcats in Bramledge!
The OU match up is a lot better and the Sooners have never played real well inside Hilton Coliseum.
ALL you guys please do me a favor and buy one extra season ticket this year!

Re: W/L Outlook on Remaining Games
Call me crazy, but I think we will beat Kansas State in Manhattan.

Re: W/L Outlook on Remaining Games
I would not put the game at Nebraska as a game we should win. I would actually put this as a probable loss. Nebraska will be tough to beat in Lincoln. I predict we finish 6-10 in the Big 12, 7-9 if we happen to beat Texas Tech at Hilton. Wins will come over Colorado, Mizzou, and Oklahoma in Ames and possibly Texas Tech. I just don't see any more road wins. If we happen to knock off Nebraska and finish 8-8 in the league we could finish as high as 6th. This would be an unbelievable coaching job by McDermott.

Re: W/L Outlook on Remaining Games
The fact that Nebraska trailed Kansas 43-8 at home gives me hope that we can play with them in Lincoln; definitely not counting on a win, though.

Re: W/L Outlook on Remaining Games
I picked a 6 win conference schedule at the beginning of the conference schedule. I'm sticking to my 6 win prediction. 7 wins and I'll be pleasantly surprised. 8 wins and I'll run naked....well, see above.

Re: W/L Outlook on Remaining Games
Still sticking with 5 or 6 wins this year in Big 12.
If we can somehow go .500, that would be amazing in my book.
Big game tonight. if we are better than the bottom 4 in the big 12, this is a must win IMO, very important for seeding in big 12 tourney

I think Texas Tech is very possible, but it will all be dependent on what kind of atmosphere the crowd provides. I would imagine because of Bob Knight, and the fact its a Saturday night game, this game will be sold out and loud!

Re: W/L Outlook on Remaining Games
Iowa State, Nebraska, Missouri and Oklahoma all seem like similar teams. And they all have new coaches. Coincidence?
