Does anyone think it is a coincidence that Tyrone McKinzie is at the same college that McCarney landed? I guess all is fair in the recruiting wars, but this seems a little seedy to me. Am I wrong on this?

I should have said steal..typo
no, sorry, but u r wrong on this...Tyrone went back to florida bcuz of his ailing mother. Plus that really doesn't sound like something Mac would do.
No, I don't think there is any connection between both actions.
I wouldn't think so. I'm sure neither one knew that Mac might end up there.
Nope.....here's why
1) Mac's too good of a guy
2) He would have had a job a while ago, assuming a setup...
3) Mac didn't get a position he wanted, a sign that he couldn't have control over something like this....
I hate to see a set up here, but there are thousands of school in the country and many in Florida. I know Mac is a great guy and all, but for ISU's argueably best player to go to the same college seems a bit hard to simply write off as concidence. I'm not buyin' it.
McKenzie was good, but he is NOT argueably the best player....he wasn't even the best player at his position. Alvin Bowen is our best LB and overall defender.
Look into it, McKenzie went back for family reasons. He was still considering staying at ISU a good deal after Chizik was already hired. U r looking for something that isn't there man.
I believe SFU was in touch with McKenzie before, I think after he left MSU. McCarney didn't know he was going to SFU when McKenzie transferred. Yeah, there are a lot of D1 schools in Florida, but TMac probably wasn't going to get into Miami, Florida, or Florida State. McCarney is too good a guy to do that. There is no correlation in this.
I do not have a problem with this, that is how the game is played. Don't we love it when a coach brings a player? What makes you think "nothing shady going on here". You used the term shady I did not. Someone with a major in statistics, please calc the odds.
That insinuation would be assuming that all along Mac had intentions to land at USF as a defensive line coach and kept it quiet for what reason? Think [carefully] before you speak .... Thanks!

That NEVER stops you:no6xn: .
However, I am pretty sure that Mac had nothing to do with McKenzie leaving. If it were linked, then ethics alone mean that Dan wouldn't be able to get the D-coordinator job at North Texas that he will be in line for in his ascension up the ranks.
It is actually USF, not SFU. Just throwing that out there for ya. ;)
I had heard before THIS PAST season that McKenzie was going to be leaving Iowa State due to family issues and not playing. I don't think his decision had anything to do with McCarney as far as USF is concerned.
