Who has a lower basketball IQ than Mike Taylor?
I can't stand watching him. For every great play he makes, here come 2 bad ones.
I'm very disappointed that GMAC hasn't found a way to make him a more disciplined player.
The shot before 1/2 pretty much sums up the type of player that he is.

My answer is the majority of the human population. It does look like it should be easy watching on tv though, doesn't it.

Rosie O'Donnell? Bill Gates? Katie Couric? Gallagher? My 4-year-old?

Also, Ricky Clemons had the least amount of Bball IQ I've seen in a long time.

Re: Who has a lower basketball IQ than Mike Taylor?
After watching this team for this long and the amount of time Gmac has had the team, do you not think if there was anyone better for the spot that Gmac would have them in there?
I mean we can have this argument every game and it will do us no good at all. He has done what he could with what time he had, these types of questions need to come after year 2 or 3. I cannot and will not be upset with the playing of MT this year as he is still our most exciting and our most valuable player.
Where I will be mad is if he is our MVP next year without any signs of improvement in his BB IQ and shot selection. If he improves upon those things and is still our best offensive player I will be elated.
If he is playing like this without the coach's permission I would really hope that he wouldn't be playing. Since he is playing, I am guessing that he is being told to play like he likes to play. (while saying this, I would guess Gmac is working with him in practice and doing the things that need to be done.)

It's pretty simple really. When someone is in your hip pocket from 30 feet, don't shoot it. If you do, you will sit next to me.
I guess I can't figure out why we're over 1/2 way through the season and everyone gets a pass for his undisciplined play.
By the way, exciting players are over-rated.

The thing that really pisses me off is this team has some talent. More than many teams that have handed us our arse.
Mike Taylor---If controlled, would be very good
Jiri---having a breakout year, has been steady
Wesley---very good, right now, double/double
Clark---does the dirty work
The above team should be far, far better than we are.

Re: Who has a lower basketball IQ than Mike Taylor?
I am not knocking your post, I just don't totally agree with it. I really think that if there was better options we would be seeing them. The first year with a new coach, we all knew that this would be a struggle. We should be happy seeing the few shining spots we have seen so far.
Should we as Cyclone fans be asking more of our programs as far as success is concerned? Hell Yes! But to expect it all in one season under a new coach with the defections we faced, give it some time, the sky is not falling, yet.

But I expect Mike Taylor to be smarter than a rock.

After a 22 point loss at home to one of the worst teams in the conference, I think we should all take a step away from making any critical comments about any coach except maybe our current coach.
