Rush Limbaugh embarrassing himself again re: football

So Limbaugh says the reason the media was so hard on Rex Grossman is because he's white.

The media, the sports media, has got social concerns that they are first and foremost interested in, and they're dumping on this guy -- Rex Grossman -- for one reason, folks, and that's because he is a white quarterback.

Can anyone explain this to me? Is he aware that Peyton Manning is pretty much the whitest guy on the planet and the media slobbers all over him? Come on...how could this guy have seriously gotten a job analyzing football once?

Fortunately, I am like Stephen Colbert, and therefore do not see color. I was not aware that either of these QBs were white. Is Limbaugh black or white?

Grossman was lousy in that game, but a good part of that was his OLine got their butts whipped. Couldn't run the ball, not enough time to pass.

Interjecting race into the aftermath is entertainment on Rush's part. His listeners will love that. Don't take it too seriously.

Wow, I find it hard to believe that someone is still willing to give this clown money.

The media is probably so hard on Rex more because he just didn't have a great game, maybe that had something to with it

In watching Friday Night Lights last night, the theme was race in sports. How black athletes and white athletes are viewed very differently. I was disappointed that happened (yeah, I live in the show).

Then today I see this bull crap - in the real world. Sickening.

However, I do consider the source though.

He clearly didn't know much about football when he was on ESPN and that hasn't changed. He wanted to make issues about race and...look...here it is again coming from him.

Rush, shut up. Please.

I'll admit to listening to him back in the day, but the McNabb thing turned me off, and it seems like he's getting crazier by the month. Hannidy is much easier to listen too, although I like some of the smaller market guys better.

Rush is losing market share to the other right-wing talkers - and I think he's trying to keep who he can.

Rush should stick to politics. Every time he brings race and athletics together, he sounds like a schmuck. Grossman is ragged on because he sucks and was the weak link in a very good team. He will be delt away this year and probably be a backup for most of the rest of his career

I absolutely do not agree with Rush on this one, Grossman sucks and that is why the press is all over him.

If you want to call Rush a racist though, then you must also call the Democratic Senator from Delaware a racist for his remarks last week.

Joe Biden Democratic Presidential hopefull described Barack OBama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” The first? Try telling that to Colin Powell, Condelisa Rice or Jesse Jackson.

I'll admit that I listened to him in the past and have gotten away from listening to him because of a busy schedule. I am not going to stick up for the guy necessarily, but if you listen to him quite a bit, then when he comes out and says something like this, it does appear off the wall.

The whole Donovan McNabb thing was not the brightest thing he has done, but I don't think he is a racist. I think the point he is trying to make is that there is too much race cards played. I do not see color, I see the person, but rules such as mandating you interview a minority for a coaching job or wanting a minority to be successfull at the QB position(which was the issue Limbaugh TRIED very poorly to make when on ESPN), just promotes racism. Hiring a certain percentage of minoritys in companys because that is the mandate by the government promotes it in the same way. That is the point I think he tries to make, but he does it in a poor fashion...

I hope I don't get ripped to hard for trying to make a point for Limbaugh as it appears most posts so far don't like him, but I thought I would try to put it in his perspective. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with his opinions either. I don't think I've spent 10 minutes listening to him for the last 3 years so maybe he has gotten worse because of his drug habit...
