Take Back the Media on KXNO

Miller has someone from the DM Rag on talking about Jeremy's take back the media initiative.

I listened in and have also talked to some people there as well. I think they heard a lot of feedback and concerns and are taking it to heart. Just the fact that they had somebody out there on the radio says that they understand that we aren't a silent group and hopefully it helps in the long run. I have no personal beaf with the paper and am just glad to see they're aware that people do keep score and that they have it in their mind when making up the layout and story line.

I think the guys agruement that the facilties upgrade was hidden on page 2 was because that they already had the layout set and it was breaking news is BS. Almost everyday there is a front page story about a game that happened the night before.

I disagree with him because I had the press release, PDF files, pictures and everything else from the University almost a week in advance, I'm sure the Rag had the same. I know CN and CR had everything in advance as well.

I don't see how that can be anymore unplanned then any major story or sports score that they move the layout for any other day. Not to mention the announcement for that day was in the morning, far in advance of the editor cut-off time.

That especially does not make sense that twice I got emails last week from Bryce Miller(after I emailed him) that it was his impression before leaving town on business that it was supposed to be front page news and when he called in to the office, he was told it was on the front page????????

You can bet if it was Iowa it would be front page news. Nothing about the Rag surprises me anymore.
