We don't need Joe Johnson, he is Division II at best.
McDonough on the other hand I would take in a heartbeat.
Also from Ankeny, I will be curious to see what Foley will drum up recruiting wise.

Re: In state FB prospects for 2008?

I hate to even make a reference to the evil empire to the west of Iowa, but they said in nebraska that they recruited coastal talent for the skill positions but recruited nebraska kids to provide the heart and soul of the program. I think the same thing applies to ISU (and Iowa for that matter). It's really plain and simple, pluck the talent out of the state when it's there, keep a great walk-on program going for the Danielsen's and Clark's of the state, but scour the he!! out of TX, FL and CA.

Is there really a kid in Des Moines at Bernstine's level or even better as previously quoted?
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Re: In state FB prospects for 2008?

I would agree that the state of Iowa has a lot of potential talent and needs to be recruited. A lot of the kids in Iowa don't have as much time to put into football as they are busy working spreading the cow sh** or sloppin the hogs. Once they get to school the focus changes. With regimented time for football, their work ethic allows their potential to come out. Having said that, its just as important to recruit nationally too, just don't underestimate what you can build on locally. I think Chizik will have an even greater ability to push and develop the next Sage or Carstens than Mac did.

If Chizik is capable of landing 4 stars from FL, GA, MS, TX, and OK, then I say let EIU have the in-state 3-stars.
