Not to overlook Rider, but, kudos to Brian Smith, MU head wrestling coach. I don't pay a lot of attention to wrestling news - its hard to get living behind the red curtain in Lincoln, NE. But, where did the MU program come from? It seems they came on suddenly, though I'm sure it's been gradual - doing things right; good recruits; good discipline and good teaching. A look at their roster indicates - a fair number from Missouri, but most are wrestlers from all over - none from Iowa, thank goodness.
According to the MU site, the match will be "[t]elevised live locally on KZOU (channel 28 for Columbia residents), the dual will be rebroadcast on Fox Sports Midwest, Saturday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. (CT) and Friday, Feb. 23, at Noon."
“We’ve got a pretty good football conference, and we’ve got a pretty good conference overall. We’re still walking around with our heads held high and our chest out, about that.” Paul Rhoads
