Expand HS FB playoff field

I think this would be great for football in Iowa. I remember my Junior year my high school team (Sigourney-Keota) went 8-1 (only loss was to the #1 rank team at the time 15-14 and we didn't make the playoffs.

I don't like doubling the system b/c that means you'd have to let some 5-4 teams in 4A into the playoffs. But I'd be in favor of adding some "Wildcard" spots (it's not like Davenport North will make it with added teams anyway...)

My Roman Villas:
Friley-Godfrey (-66|126)
Helser-Woodrow (-61|122)
Roberts-Harriman (-74|133)
Welch-Ayres (-73|133)

Re: Expand HS FB playoff field

Sounds good to me. In high school football, there are a lot of cases of "on any given Friday night" type games. I think that a team with only one loss should definately make it, and maybe even if they only have two losses they should be guaranteed. That gives them another chance to prove that they can do it.

Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans…I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

I think that it takes away from it. It was a sense of pride when we made it. It just wouldn't seem as exclusive as it was before.

"some 5-4 teams"...you would have more like 4-5 teams maybe even 3-6 in 4A making it since there are only like 55 4A teams

ISU ROCKS!!!!
