That's a great clip. I'm gonna save that one.
Love how he's talking all quiet and then all of a sudden he starts yelling, just out of the blue. Nice to hear something like that from a coach.

It would be nice to hear that in a conversation between coach and athelete, however, he went off the deep end because of a parent. IMO, he was yelling at the parent because it sounds like they wanted more time to spend with their kid, which is just plain wrong.

I heard it on the radio earlier this week. It was a coach going off on players wanting more time off. He went in to a rant about noboby else get this much vacation time, this is Division on Football. I think it might have been Dan Hawkins, but I can not find anything about it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Nevermind, I found it. It was Dan Hawkins and it is pretty funny. If you have not heard it, listen to it. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2765424 |

| Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." |

Although his delivery is a little off, I think its a good, and probably well planned move... Im sure the CU guys have probably had a pretty relaxed atmostphere and he needs to shake them up, tear them down, and build them back up...
I for one would have LOVED to have a month off in the summer... Summer between junior and senior year I had 2 days off!

I'm sorry guys but everytime I hear those Dan Hawkins follies (Hawkins speaking actually) first I laugh, then I think of what Dan McCarney said about Dan Hawkins.
"He's a dandy!"....Quoting Dan McCarney
Never has so much been said with so little verbage!!
Sorry I'm laughing as I write this!!!

This is HILARIOUS. The ESPN guys crack me up talking about this. Funny stuff. It's great how Hawkins is all calm and polite and then flys of the handle. Wow. That might not be the best venue to do that but it really sends a message to the team.
