Maybe if some recruiting service gave him 4 stars everyone would be all giddy. Never mind that our coach, who's actually seen him play, saw enough to offer him a scholarship before his junior year.
As far as the comparisons to Zach and Brock, how many scholarship offers did they have before their junior years?

It may be possible that Mac sees a bit of Ben Jacobsen (the player) in Wes. Ben was a decent athlete, but skinny when he came out of Sioux City. He redshirted, got stronger, and was a damn fine player, who could have played in the Big 12. If that is the case, then we will like this kid a lot.

FWIW, Wes played at the ISU elite camp last summer, where he would have competed against other "elite" competition. I'm sure they wouldn't have offered him if they didn't see something.
