Re: No more Brock please!

I believe there is a term for that...it's called a fair weather fan.

Re: No more Brock please!

I can not understand why Brock will not pump fake and step under and past the defender flying out at him in these situations. While three points may be preferred, an open look and two points beats what we are getting now.

Doing this once-in-awhile for an uncontested shot might build some confidence in Brock. Additionally, it could keep defenders that are now flying out at him more honest; thereby giving him the chance of an open look or even drawing a foul.

Actually, he is right about this. I don't care what the opinions are, if they fall in line with what the majority believes, then it is OK. But disagree with popular opinion, and you are NOT the Iowa State fan that they are. That to me is VERY funny.

He is just not very athletic. Add that to a lack of confidence on the court, and you see a three bounce off the side of the backboard,

Or it might be HOW said opinion is EXPRESSED.

Re: No more Brock please!

At this point I think Ceaser or Mark Currie are better options than Brock for late game 3 point shooting. At least those 2 can play defense and have a little more size and quickness that Brock does not have.

"Brick" Jacobson is more appropriate

Re: No more Brock please!

I agree with travman23 about Ceaser and Currie being better options. Jacobsen might be a great shooter in practice but if it doesn't carry into games, it doesn't matter. Ceaser seems to do a great job of coming off the bench and hitting a couple shots. Jacobson doesn't have great size and quickness to keep up on defense. Brock is a redshirt freshman and so he still has some time to develop. I don't think he'll be a John Neal but thats okay with me.

if he's not gonna play hardly at all 90% of the game, don't put him in at the very end when you need 3's to catch up....I don't believe in just bringing in guys who are situational shooters, especially when they are off the bench cold. I didn't like how ISU used John Neal before either...They should've run something to Taylor or Welsey, the guys who had actually been making 3's throughout the game & SEASON. If he wants to get Brock more playing time bcuz he actually believes he can contribute - than FINE, McD is a better coach than me, but don't just put him in at the last tale end.

I think he meant to express your negative opinion without coming across as ripping on the players and/or appearing to take joy in their failures.

Where do you see the joy??? When it comes to evaluating performances, I am objective, if the guy screws up I am not going to say that he made a great play. Just because Iowa State is my favorite team, doesn't mean that I have blinders on.

I know what you, and Avery mean, don't think for a minute I don't. It has nothing to do with players. I'm sorry that I don't like being told what to think, especially when it is wrong.

Re: No more Brock please!

Even Rudy got into the Notre Dame Game one time.

It is funny that the main idea in basketball is to put the ball in the hoop and he can't really do it that well. Great in practice though. He can light it up. My old high school football coach would have loved him. Probably started him in every game. My old coach loved Practice guy. To bad he did not like game time guy.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with calling a spade a spade. If we suck, there's no problem saying so, and I definitely wouldn't want to tell you what to think. I don't think Brock's a Big 12 player right now any more than you do. I just think it seems like every time you're posting on here it's something negative about our players/team. Sometimes I almost think you're hoping one of your whipping boys like Brock will screw up so you can come post about it. All I'm saying is nobody likes a Debbie Downer...wa waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
