Release: 02/08/2007 AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior point guard Lyndsey Medders was named to the ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VII Second Team, announced Thursday. Medders earned the honor for the second consecutive season. She holds a 3.44 cumulative grade-point average in sport management. She is currently involved in an internship with ISU Athletics Director Jamie Pollard and the Iowa State athletics department. “This kind of recognition for one of our players and our program is truly special,” head coach Bill Fennelly said. “We take great pride in our accomplishments on the court and in the classroom. Lyndsey is a great example of that and continues the long line of players who have received similar recognition.” The Los Angeles, Calif., native ranks sixth nationally with 6.4 assists per game and holds the Iowa State career assist record with 644. She leads the Cyclones with 12.6 points per game and is averaging 3.8 rebounds a contest. The District VII first and second teams are comprised of 10 student-athletes. This is the 15th time an Iowa State women’s basketball player has earned district academic All-America recognition and the 12th time during head coach Bill Fennelly’s tenure. | | |

Another great story to show off the amount of hard work she does on and off the court!
