A Minnisota High school kid just reopened his recruitment

Doesnt say who he was committed to. A ton of offers, mostly mid majors.

Did some Google and said he verballed to Fresno State in February. Grew up in Illinois and was listed as #5 prospect in Illinois as a Junior. Had to move to Minnesota because he was expelled from his HS in Illinois for an "altercation".

Even more searching reveals he was expelled for punching a student that stole his shoes.

The kid has been talked about before. He really has some upside to his game but has some personal issues that could weight heavily on him being brought into a major program. He would probably be best served taking the JUCO route for a year to show how good he really can be without the problems of high school. He would certainly get offers from some major programs if he showed he has grown up.

Of course, he won't do that though and will pick a school that wants to take a risk on him. ISU has contacted him from what I have heard but no offer had been extended as of last night. I know that the coching staff is aware of him though and have looked at him as a possibility.

I say take a chance - McD would be able to keep a pretty tight leash on him I imagine.

Can't blame him to much for that...I know I probably would have felt inclined to do the same thing back in High School.

i dont know.. i dont really like the looks of the guy.. he got expelled.. and then moved out of state to go to another high school? i think we can do better

I doubt that we can "do better" than a 3 star big man on May 9. No doubt we can do better next fall. So recruiting him will depend on the confidence the staff has in the 4 bigs they currently have, and whether they think they can sign Love or the "mystery guy".

Think about it. When you are in high school everything is a big deal. If someone stole your shoes, wouldn't you be mad too? Just because someone got into a fistfight in high school doesn't mean he is a bad person. I would like to know more about this prospect, and find out exactly where we stand with him as far as recruiting goes. With McD providing tough love, he could really blossom.
