They have no quality wins and some bad non-conference losses.
They are 2-8 against top 50 RPI teams and have bad losses to Arizona State (6-18, 0-13 in Pac 10) UNI (7-9 in MVC) Drake (4-11 in MVC) and Indiana is the only team in the Big 10 they have beat that is probably going to make the tourney. M&M were saying that even running the table and going 11-5 in the Big 10 might not be enough because they have no quality wins and too many bad losses. I think the only way they get in is win the Big 10 tourney and maybe making the championship game might do it too but they have to have that 11-5 conference record to go with it. They still have Illinois to play plus they'd have to beat one of the top Big 10 teams in the Big 10 tourney just to get to that championship game. Just think there is too much to overcome for the Hawks to pull it off. 20 wins is no longer a lock to make the dance with the expanded schedules now.
They should probably figure out how to hire a university president before worrying about getting into the NCAA tournament...
Is Arizona State THAT bad...my goodness. They have some ugly, ugly losses.
The can't get a marquee win unless they beat OSU or Wisconsin in the tournament.
Don't see how they get in with their non-conference record...unless they go 11-5 in conference play then they may have a chance.
And do so without costing the Iowa taxpayer hundreds of thousands of dollars more.
