Basketball Camps Ages????
Anyone know the age range of the father-son basketball camp? I am wondering if my 6-year-old is old enough. Thanks.

Re: Basketball Camps Ages????
From past camps, kids as young as 6 have come but they tend to get frustrated since they cannot keep up with the other kids in their group. It has become an unwritten guideline/suggestion that sons should be closer to 8 years old. It is a great time as they make it just as fun for the dads. McDermott spent more time at the camp last year than any of us expected. And when he demonstrated a pivot move, you got the idea that he was pretty intense about instruction; a little foreshadowing of what Jiri was about to experience.

Re: Basketball Camps Ages????
I am not an expert in this area as I don't have children of my own, but my 6-year old nephew is doing a six-week basketball camp. I think he goes for an hour each week. He's with kids his own age so that might help with the frustration aspect. I don't think it's a bad idea to get the kid playing--especially if he is showing interest.
