Paul Shirley practicing with the team...

Theres a free interview with Paul Shirley available on cyclones.com that some might want to check out. Honestly, the interview isn't any good, but it's interesting to hear that he's going to be playing with our guys even though he admits he has no post moves he can show them.

I wonder what brought him back to Ames? Interesting.

A potential TV pilot show?

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

Maybe he's an early frontrunner for the QB coaching vacancy?

Does he have any involvement with the proposed NBDL team?

It would be nice to have him as the color guy on the CTN instead of the parade of yahoos we get.

Another reason he might be back is he's got a book coming out in April. Should be a good read.

he's incredibly intelligent and fun to listen to. I've seen him on cold pizza a few times, and he seems like a real camera-friendly guy. It'd be great to have him doing color commentary somewhere. espn should pick him up

I was thinking of him or anybody replacing Eric on the radio.

If I were him, I'd keep a low profile around Ames. Wasn't he complaining on his blog that Iowa women weren't very attractive? I've heard that women don't forget and tend to hold grudges over stuff like that. There could be some "wrath" coming his way...

I think the CTN announcers for TV do a really good job. Paul would make an excellent broadcaster though.

He ripped ISU (and the entire state) once (that I know of) in his blog. Something like "I feel no loyalty to ISU". Maybe something about being hicks (that memory is vague).
