I've checked with all my sources, but this is primo content so don't tell anyone. Jessan Gray will be leaving the team after this season.

I don't know all the details about the NCAA Satisfactory Progress rule that will be coming, but I think we are on pace to lose some scholarships when it starts. This is the key part of the entire discussion! With our coaching turnover the past five years, we've had a revolving door for transferring (and early departure) players. I don't know all the "in's and out's" of the NCAA policy on graduation rates, but we can't afford to lose scholarships by being out of compliance! Please stay, Jiri...

I've heard the Jiri rumor but IMO if he stays he has the potential to be first or second team all-Big 12 next year. But so did Will and Curt and that didn't work out so well...
Right now (last two games), Jiri is our best player.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense... The coach will be Nick Nurse, and the team will be affiliated with the Chicago Bulls. Take this to the bank. I know I'm the same guy that put on the "Deion as our d-backs coach" spoof, but I kid you not when I tell you this one. (not that everybody is going to get all ruffled up about the new coach of our new D-league team anyway, or even care probably, just wanted to clarify that I was actually serious with this one)

I've never even heard of Nick Nurse. Nope, I just know for a fact that this is the case. He was a player at UNI back in the day...actually played with Gmac. He was a pretty sweet guard, and is a funny guy to listen to. He's been coaching professionally in Europe for a while now.

Nick nurse is currently not coaching basketball and waiting for an opportunity. Nice that the opportunity is in Des Moines. Way to start out with a bang. I think we would be better off with Michael Nurse.

Well, that settles it. Now we know what player is leaving ISU.
All of them.
They'll be the nucleus of the new DSM NBA D-league team lead by Nurse.
G-Mac will leave ISU the year after to be an assistant on his former teammate's team.

I have heard that there is a very good chance at least one player will not be here next year, I also have not been given the ok to say who that player is as it is not a for sure thing, but I wouldsay that there is a 95% cahnce that there is going to be an open scholarship for next season. The players name has been talked about in this thread, but thne again most players have been talked about........ Sorry I can not give more info.........but the cahnces are good someone will not be wearing the Cardinal and Gold next year............
