Rivals Website Predictions

There is an article today on the free Rivals website listing their projections for next year. They have ISU 5th in the North ahead of Colorado.

They also have their projection of the top five players at each position. For ISU they have Blythe as the 5th best WR, Bowen as the 2nd best LB and Brandtner os 4th best punter. According to their list, Meyer is not in the top 5 for QBs in the conference.

Blythe & Meyer...that's quite the turnaround from last year. Maybe that will motivate them.

I totally agree with what you just said and what the free info on Rivals states. There is no reason for our team to expect anything else from any of the media after last season- let's just hope that they can live up to last years preseason expectations this year. With a chip on their shoulder and alot of hard work you never know- it may be a year late but it would be better than never!

Wasn't Meyer ranked #1 by some going into last year? People forget Blythe was coming off surgery and still had a decent year for being on a less than average team.

Is Sam Keller of NE at No 1 without taking a snap?

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

Re: Rivals Website Predictions

Keller took a lot of snaps at ASU and he looked pretty solid to me there.

Honestly, I can't argue with anything on the List. Plus, Blythe had surgery after his freshman year and the talk heading into last season was that it was his first full offseason and we were going to see the full power of Blythe unleashed. Yeah he got mono, but the offense was lethargic until then anyway.

They need to prove they are top players in the Big 12 all over again after last season.

Now that Meyer isn't expected to be all world in the Big 12 and Blythe is flying in a little under the radar, I would think that they will play like they have nothing to lose. That is true for Meyer, unless he loses his starting job...this fall is going to bring great changes to the attitude of ISU football, and I for one can not wait.

Blythe is definitely better than number 5 on the list in terms of raw talent. Meyer should also be in the top 5. That being said, I don't think Bowen is the second best linebacker in the conference.
