The rag is making it a sob story, but it's his own fault. He obviously knew sexual assault is wrong and should've considered the consequences

Red letter date in the state's history: Very rare for a hawkeye to ever be held accountable for his actions.

Wow, almost and entire year?!?!? He must be completely re-habilitated at that point... Also, can he really say that he's successfully re-entered society if he I'm sure I could claim to be a "productive" person in society if I didn't have to leave the house too.

Boo-hoo.
Then again, part of me wishes they'd let him go - getting this skidmark of society out of the state.

I personally like the phrase "he doesnt want any special treatment, just wants to be able to live his dream" Here I sit in my cube day after day with no talent that will make me bigs bucks wishing I could live my dream but cant because Im missing that talent. I dont rape anyone, i dont steal, i dont kill. And he thinks he should still live his dream? gimme a break. Has this country got to the point where people honestly think and believe this way?

I was considering this....and wondering...if he did go pro, made lots of money, and did something like this again....would he just buy his way out and never face the consiquences? Maybe the judge really is taking the right stance on it. Yes, it does hurt his chances of (possibly/eventually) going pro - but once again, it is his fault to begin with, so how sorry should anyone feel for the guy?

Maybe he should start a jailhouse basketball league. And then, 20 years from now - they'll make a movie from it.
And he can be the "star".

"He is not asking for special treatment, just to pursue his dream." How does this not qualify as special treatment? He did the crime, he should have to do the time and that includes probation. In no way or form should he be allowed out of his probation responsibility so he can "pursue his dream." He should have considered "his dream" before following through on his actions that led him to this predicament.

Ok...lets be fair here guys. I think we should allow him to leave to pursue his big dream.
Only if he allows the two women he sexually assaulted him to return the favor. Give the ladies a strap-on and let 'em have at it!
Oh, it must be televised with John Walters doing the "play-by-play".
