How can they revoke something they never gave us? Independence was taken from them when our ancestors beat them out of this country. (With help from the French, amazingly.) I can't say it makes me mad. It was meant as humor in a pompous way, I'll take it for that.
I'm not saying I want to change, but, it is unfortunate how obsurd we do look, most of the time, to the rest of the world. Then again, we won the war. It's our country now. Sounds a bit like sour grapes. I imagine this will be how the U of I will be soon, when our dominance makes this nothing but a Cyclone State.

Scoreboard, *******!
And you could add something about that whole not-speaking-German thing we helped them out with. Actually, you forget the War of 1812, where Britain tried to reclaim what they thought was rightfully theirs. Once again they got their **** slapped around and then decided it was much wiser if they just let us be their daddy. | Attempt #3

Hmmm...John (or whatever Brit wrote it)...you'd think your beloved UK, that apparently has it all together, would have been able to shut down that megalomaniac German who was bombing your little island nation to smithereens and about to over-run it. So tell me again why it was that you needed help from the pitiful Americans???
EDIT: To the misinformed individual (anonymous of course) that gave me negative rep for this post...for your benefit, the US started providing economic and military assistance to GB in 1940, which (again for your benefit) was before Pearl Harbor. Over two hundred US Merchant Marines died transporting that "assistance" to GB and other areas prior to Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.
