Had that feeling again
Towards the end of the game, I had that feeling again. The crowd was doing what it should be, the players were tightening up, CU was making mistakes....Hilton Magic took over. I know this because for a split second I forgot that we have slim post season hopes....I forgot that we're 4-8 team desperately trying to beat a 2-10 conference team. In that moment, I forgot about everything and getting this win felt like a post season game. The crowd was AWESOME tonight!!! great win!
Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

Re: Had that feeling again
The crowd at the end was great. Cyclone alley in the first half was pretty quiet. Although I loved the scoring spree we went on when Taylor sat down in the first half. Plus Currie really took a beating when he got those minutes in the first half. I think he was one of the players that really turned the game around at the end of the first half. Great game out of McIntosh, too. He finally stepped up and took a couple of shots.
That was a fun game. We're just lucky it was CU we were playing. Otherwise that comeback falls flat on its face.

Score, please. Nobody down here in Phoenix cares and apparently neither does ESPN online.

Re: Had that feeling again
Finally some help from the Refs in a game!
Although a few didnt go our way, most did.

I'll pose this question here, since people seem to be ignoring my aTm thread.
Can/will Greg McDermott do for ISU what Gillespie has done for Texas A&M?

Re: Had that feeling again
i hope so, it took a couple years and he also schueled weak non-conference games to build their programs confidence. gregs teams seem to flurish in their 3rd year. i hope it takes only two for ours though.

Can/will Greg McDermott do for ISU what Gillespie has done for Texas A&M? I don't think he has too. What i mean by that is A&M's tradition for bball was way way worse than when GMAC took over the job. ISU know is a better job than A&M than was.
With that being said, it will be difficult for us to be a top ten team consistently like i think A&M has the chance to do

Re: Had that feeling again
It was a smaller, but very energetic crowd in the second half. I loved seeing EVERYONE standing the whole last 2 minutes!

Can/will Greg McDermott do for ISU what Gillespie has done for Texas A&M? Gillespie reminds me a lot of Tim Floyd, his first three years at Iowa State. I think that he is a great coach, and is A & M can keep him (I don't see how they can afford not to), then they will be the next big team.
In answer to your question, I don't know if Greg can be that guy. What we will see with him is a well coached, disciplined team that will play consistently either at home or on the road. If he has the right group, then he can win the league, but it won't be every year.
That being said, I think that Greg can put together a program that can be like Wisconsin. A team that you don't want to play in March because of their style.
