In 1945 a goat named Murphy and his owner Billy Sianis entered into Wrigley Field ready to enjoy a spectacular Game 4 of the 1945 World Series between the Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers. They strutted about the field with a sign stating “We got Detroits goat” to later be escorted to their seats of which they paid a mere $7.20 each. It wasn’t shortly after that Cubs owner Philip Knight Wrigley complained of the offensive odor that the goat was giving off, and had them both ejected from the stadium. As upset as Sianis was, he placed the infamous curse on the Cubs and Wrigley Field. The Cubs lost Game 4 that day and eventually the 1945 World Series continuing the 100year drought the Cubs have experienced. You could take last years NL All-Star team and put them in Cubs uniforms this year and they would still be a .500 team or worse. I root for the Cubs some but the Cyclones tug on my heart strings enough, so I can't get too into the Cubs yet.
P.S. Very well written guitarchitect7

It is hard to root for the underdogs all the time. Right now my favorite teams are Cubs, Cyclones, 49ers. All at this point unsuccessful teams in their appropriate sports. But every year, I keep cheering till the end.
P.S. Thanks.
