Richard Roby

After the Harrison brothers, it has been pretty easy for me to hate on Colorado basketball, and their players. However, Roby seems to be a pretty class act. I saw a questionable call or two go against him last night, and he would just smile and shake his head a litttle then get back to business.

That kid is pretty good. I don't know if he has what it takes to make in the pros, but he definitely has a pro style game.

I wasn't there at the game, but it always seemed to me that he was a bit of a whiner. The only reason I remember this is because I always found it easy to heckle him. Perhaps he is no longer like that.

I dunno, I guess I've always hated Roby. That's probably just because we spared nobody in pregame or on the court when Colorado would come to town with the Harrisons (not even their little sister DeeDee). I'm sure he's not nearly as bad as they were, and he does seem a little classier now that "Shaggy" has exhausted his eligibility. It was Andy something I think, but I really hated that guy too. Maybe when Patton is gone they'll get somebody that will make the program so we don't hate it (but I doubt it since they're in the North...seems like for some reason I always like the south teams a lot better since we only see them at Hilton every other year)

*Note* Just so the hate police know, I am only hating these athletes' actions, not the people themselves.

I don't like him because he's good. That guy can make a play and I want to beat him every time he does. =)

Re: Richard Roby

He is very good. He had it down to us and Colorado to where he was going to school. I saw him at the Football game that year and he decided Colorado. How nice would it be to have him on our team.

Re: Richard Roby

Yes I noticed he seemed like a nice guy and is VERY good. He might have gotten away with a couple travels, but who cares....all those moves are legit in the NBA.

That nice guy let out a very loud four letter word that begins with F and punched a door in Hilton just as he was walking into the locker room after the game.

He is a very good player. The thing that I don't understand, and I think might be holding him back a little, is why he takes so many fade away shots. He has the skills, and a lot of the time he has a height advantage. He doesn't really need to be worried about a blocked shot.

I would do the same if I just lost that game and I played that hard. I can't blame him for hating losing.

Re: Richard Roby

He's a good player but I thought he used his off arm to push off a lot and create the space he needed to get a shot off or get around a defender. The refs were really just letting everyone play last night and it was obvious just in the first 2 minutes of the game where between both teams at least 3 travels were not called. Was nice to have those extra fouls at the end of the game to use. We took a 10 second game down to about a 4 second game with 2 fouls and CU having no timeouts to setup a play.

And? Did he show that towards fans or his teammates on the floor? no. Did he get frustrated at his coach? no. He played 40 minutes of 100 percent effort. I'd be upset too if I were him.

Just pointing it out because it was seen by few. I've never gotten the "nice guy" vibe from him. Hes very talented, though.

I agree mwitt, Roby has always seemed like a ***** to me (not to mention he must have gotten clubbed by the ugly stick a few thousand times) but it appears that he has some of his top fans here on our site. Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

Still do not know why we cannot stop his scoring better. Oh well, he is gone for us.
