Wimbledon Equals Pay for Women
ESPN LINK I am all for equal pay in the workplace, however for this it seems a little unbalanced. I would be upset if I had to work 30% more to recieve equal pay which it seems to me the men have to do. I may be wrong here but I certainly am not for creating new inequalities to make up for the past. I am not too passionate about this but just wondered if anyone else noticed or cared.

Re: Wimbledon Equals Pay for Women
I've spoken against equal pay in the majors since it started happening. As far as I'm concerned, it's crap. It's not about sexism, it's about work. The men's shortest possible match is the same length as the woman's longest possible match. How is that deserving of the same purse? I have yet to hear a decent answer to that question.

Re: Wimbledon Equals Pay for Women
I think it should come down to who generates more revenue. Do men tennis players generate more revenue than female tennis players? If yes, why shouldn't they get paid more?

Re: Wimbledon Equals Pay for Women
People want to see girls in skimpy outfits. Notsomuch with men. Enough said.
They should just give the money to Federer now anyway.

I am not a tennis fan at all but if they want to be equals why aren't the women playing with the men then?

Since when do we pay athletes based on how long their games are?
Women's tennis has been more entertaining recently anyway. Wake me up when someone can actually touch Federer. If I remember right they actually get better TV ratings than the men so maybe they should be making MORE. I think most people would like to see the women go to 5 sets.

Did anyone watch the Australian Open women's finals where a low-seeded Serena dropped the Russian hottie, #1 ranked Maria Sharapova in decisive fashion? I did.
I hear Federer also played or something. I'm not sure though, it might have just been a re-run of some other match from the past 3 years.
