I'm saying that they understand that students won't be there, and that is why they do what they do.

Unless you have a night class on Thursday night, how is this out of their control?

Maybe they didn't show up and I just imagined them after my 9th or 10th beverage. Anyway, my friends and imaginary friends all agree that one Thusday night game is fun for the kids.
Same here. Except there were 3 or 4 of us who took work off. There is no greater feeling than drinking some beer in the tailgate lots before an ISU home opener while everyone else is still at work.

The two quizes were in a class from 4-5:30 PM, and 6PM to 8PM. The teachers flat out said the reason they had quizes was because we need to relize that our education comes before any football game, which i do agree with. But when the school is the one who is changing the date of the football game from a Saturday to a Thursday, there needs to be some understanding, especially when students are encouraged to attend games and tailgate.

Ok, then that's a different story. I thought you meant like on Friday or something. I wouldn't go to a Thursday night class either, except I did wuss out and go to class instead of attend Chizik's inaugural press conference in fear of a quiz because I knew we had one coming up.

There is something about watching football in the outdoors at night. Reminds me of high school I guess.

I have a family and it works ok, but we don't drive back after and we take time off from work. It's the over time during these games that is a killer. Hopefully, we won't have any games with over time next year....

If you read the article closely, it makes sense. It was re-scheduled to avoid the Labor Day weekend. For people who like to take off for the 3-day weekend, a Saturday game creates problems. This way, ISU can hope for much better attendance on Thursday night. (Plus, you've got to admit the 1st game of the season being played at night is pretty electric!)

Screws me.........live 1200 miles and away have season tickets. Fly out on friday night(use my Southwest Rewards Tickets) to KC and rent car drive to Indianola spend night with family. Tailgate saturday and fly home Sunday afternoon.

Thursday Night game..............not possible! just like last year can't go and it sucks to be me. It always seems that everything revoles around what goes on in Central Iowa...........TV, radio, etc. The out of state alum and fans never seem to count no matter how many $$$$ we send to Iowa State. JP is going to another loboclone email

You mean to tell me with it being Chizik's first game ever at Iowa St and Pollard is worried about attendance for the season opener? Regardless of when the game is played, just hearing the words "Gene Chizik's coaching debut at Iowa St" should be enough to sell that place out, and that's after what i'm sure will be a summer full of Gene Chizik hype.

I see both sides of it - I'll be there either way.

And for me...the sooner the football season gets started - the better.

    Play a game tonight for all I care....PLEASE! :)

I think it sucks. Don't like the Thursday games. This is just going to be like last year. If we can get on nat'l TV then I will agree with the decision, but if it strickly to boost attendance due to the holiday weekend then it is rubbish. Shouldn't have to do that.

Then again, you guys couldn't sell out Jack Trice for McCarney's final home game either.....
    Nice zinger there...

All I was saying was that Pollard wanted to insure maximum attendance by taking away people's excuses about missing a Labor Day Saturday game...
