Re: Jayhawks' point guard will miss game against Cyclones
This news won't affect the game much at all on Saturday. KU could probably play all non-starters and have a winning team on the floor for most games.
Having said that, I would love for nothing else than to rock KU's world on Saturday with an ISU win, but I know I'm just dreaming....

The junior leads Kansas with 131 assists, including 27 while helping the Jayhawks win the past five games.
Freshman Sherron Collins, who scored 20 points in a reserve role during a 71-62 win over Kansas State on Monday, will replace Collins.
Kansas beat Iowa State 68-64 in overtime on Jan. 13 at Hilton Coliseum. Collins scored 10 points in that game.
doesn't matter who is replacing him, you know what KU fans will say now if we beat them...
I really want this one...unless we pull off some miraculous tourney run, we are not gonna be in the ncaa tourney, and we might not even get the NIT (:sad9cd: )...so I think this would be a BIG building block for next year, a lot of people will say one game won't mean much, but if these kids can see they can beat the #6 ranked team, they should have the confidence they can play with anyone. And they need to WIN it, not just "play them close." Bcuz they've already done that with some good teams - they need to see the results of hard work and McDermott ball.
Re: Jayhawks' point guard will miss game against Cyclones
Too bad that the backup guy is better than Robinson.

Good grief! KU beat Nebraska by 53 points in their last home game. Were heading there with a coach and most of the team that have never experienced the Phog. Add to that its televised by ESPN. I just hope we don't get the big can of a**-whooping.
BTW, anybody know what our record is on ESPN?

The good thing is that the vaunted "Phog" won't be anything like it could be because our team isn't very good this year. The crowd will still be good but it's not going to be anything unbelievable. Hopefully our guys can hang around for a while when KU comes out flat because they rightly see us as inferior. The problem is that we took them to OT last time so I think they'll be cranky...
Re: Jayhawks' point guard will miss game against Cyclones
Yes, they will be cranky. They will be out to avenge the OT game in Ames. They will be miffed that they are only 22 point favorites.
Self will want to use this opportunity to make a case for a #1 seed in front of a national audience. He'll be all over them.
What we do have going for us is our team won't give up no matter how bad it gets. We should hold our own in the second half, but I expect we'll get killed in the first.

"Just another gym", right? ISU has won there three times since 2000 which is more than anybody else. Let's get it done.
