Re: I don't get it...
Let's not forget either, that alot of these guys would have been walk-ons somewhere else, not scholarship players. They were what was available when Mac got the job. Most of these so called scholarship players aren'y much better than the walk-ons. And Rashon Clark, as much as I appreciate him sticking around, let's face it, other than an amazing vertical leap and a lttle defense, what does he bring. He has 0 offensive moves. He can't post up and score. The only points he can score are if he is in the right position on the offense glass. In my opinion, the only ones on our team that should be starters at the D-1 level are Possibly W.
Johnson and Ubalich. And that is a stretch!! Give it time. Coach Mac will bring in quality players. ISU will continue to improve. 14 wins is about 6 more W's than I thought we would have this year.

Re: I don't get it...
Hmmm. Telling it like it is?. I put Mike in D-1 territory as a shooting guard. Last year he had Stefon plying with him at Chipolte. This year he has Corey. I am not sure the four coming in to go with two or three front line players will fill the cupboard if what you say is true. Looks to me like some long nights ahead for McD. Our season may be over by a week from Thursday.

Re: I don't get it...
If McD could, he would play the starters every minute of every game. Truth is, sometimes teams start slow, and the coach has to find the missing link, sometimes that will be a 6th man, or a walk-on. Against CU, Currie came off the bench and brought the spark. Also, there is the factor that these guys need their rest during the game. Running up and down the floor with these All-American players is going to take a toll on a players body.

Re: I don't get it...
We are offensively challenged. Offensively, Rashon, Dodie, Colry, Corey and Jessan do not bring much offense to the party. Most of the standard plays we run are defensed well. And we do not get very many turnovers. That shooting problem is enough to keep us out of the NIT.

Re: I don't get it...
I guess if I have a choice between Mark Currie and a tired Rahshon Clark, I'm going to put my money on Clark. The thing that made me mad the most was when McDermott sat the starters and most of the bench and brought in walk-ons at the 4 minute mark. It would have been embarassing for the starters to not be able to salvage some kind of dignity on national television, instead they get yanked for a walk-on.

Re: I don't get it...
The fact of the matter is, the starters were not in the game even if they were on the floor. I think I counted a half dozen times in the first half when there were 3-4 red jersies under the basket vs. 1 white jersey, and the white jersey came away with the rebound every time. The "starters" were not defending or hustling after loose balls. What better way to send them a message than sit them all down in favor of the bench? GMac's tour at ISU involves more than this game, and he is coaching while you guys "don't get it."

Re: I don't get it...
I'm not off the bandwagon, but we have to face facts, this team is not good. Roby from Colorado was taking Clark to school and the other guys that guarded him that night( Dunson, Currie) at least played him even. Sometimes you have to let the starters see the 2nd team busting their ace. Let them see Corey Johnson mixing it up and Caesar and Currie holding their own against a poor starting five to remind the starters that let should have been killing Colorado and playing Kansas within at least 20 points.

Re: I don't get it...
I, for one, am happy with a .500 record considering everything that happened last year. Of course, I'd have loved to see us pull off a few more but around .500 was about what I expected.
At lease it isn't as bad as last year when we had a team coming off an NCAA 2nd round effort only to go .500 with all that "talent" we had. -
Re: I don't get it...
That is a good point and I will agree with it. This team also pulled off some wins that shouldn't have and that was something down the stretch last year that wasn't done. The 2nd halves of games last year with the turnovers, the missed free throws and the total lack of any basketball strategy was alot more frustrating than this year's season.
