Daylight Savings Time (DST) Changes
The US Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT) mandates that Daylight Saving Time (DST) in the United States of America start on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November starting in 2007. In 2007, the start and stop dates will be March 11 and November 4, respectively.
We're dealing with this at work right now, updating servers and systems. Just thought it would be good to inform everyone here that wasn't aware of the changes to DST.
Re: Daylight Savings Time (DST) Changes
I work for facilities on campus....they did a good job of announcing it a few weeks go.
Re: Daylight Savings Time (DST) Changes
The IT guys were I work are scratching their heads still. I'm not sure if they now how to change it on the older computers - let's just say our IT guys don't have both paddles in the watter... sometimes I wonder if they're even in a boat.
Re: Daylight Savings Time (DST) Changes
Separate from how it impacts the computers, I don't care for how it impacts people. Here in Western Alaska it means that sunrise won't be until 10:30 am instead of 9:30 am and sunset will be at 8:00 pm instead of 7:00 pm. By early April it will already be light until 11:00 pm. I would just as soon scratch daylight savings time all together.
