Is your wife or S/O vain about anything?
The thread about humorous wives has left me thinking about my spouse. We've obviously all married or will eventually marry supermodels (mine bears resemblence to Sandra Bullock; it works for me!). Guys are happy to shower, run the brush thru the hair once and be out the door (shaving optional). My wife takes at least 45 minutes in the bathroom every morning and will not go out without preparation.
I love her anyway and will readily admit that I married well! Anyway, she has one vanity that just slays me. She likes to walk around barefoot and she has the ugliest feet ever! She had them laying across me last night on the couch when I opined that she should cover those ugly dawgs, which launched her into this speech about she could have modeled footwear!
While we're poking fun at our spouses during this sports slow-time, anybody else have any vanity stories?

Grey hair! She spends $150 treating it multiple times a year. Can't understand it.

Tweezing her eyebrows, she can sit there for 2 hrs just picking single hairs out of her head. She usually only does this when there is something I am waiting on her for. Like "don't watch 24 until I get there" and then she starts plucking.

Mine has more issues than thread will allow.................we were at a New Mexico game last fall, Ford Motor company "SkyBox" best seat in stadium, drinks food, TV etc....she announces at half time that see doesn't understand where the yellow line on the field(1st down line on TV) is...."I can't see it"........blank stares from everyone in Skybox, also she graduated from EIU. Enough said.

It'll only cost her about $5-10 each time, less painful than hair-by-hair and will take a lot less time.
Mrs. ISUFan has plenty of grey hair. In fact, she's had it for as long as I can remember. And, for about as long as I can remember, she gets it colored. At least she's not going someplace that chargers her $150 a pop yet it looks great and lasts just as long as the expensive shops.
Now if I could only get her to give up the pillow location phobia she has...

Now if I could only get her to give up the pillow location phobia she has... She does that, this is just the between wax perfection treatments. You cannot see the hair anyway because it is really fine and totally white.

A. Going to a bad waxer.
B. Psychotically obsessed.
C. Both A and B.
D. Finding a way to get away from her husband. -

What's worse?
a) Spending time in front of the mirror grooming herself or;
b) Deciding that she's spent enought time on herself and wants to take care
of a few rogue hairs in your eyebrows or ears?
Why do they get so much pleasure on causing us pain?

Has her soap shipped in from her sister in California.
Usually brings it home with her when she comes back to visit, but forgot this time. Just got a care package last week. Probably cost more to ship the stuff than it did to buy it.
Other than that, she's pretty good. Better than some others I know or other girls I've dated. Not usually "overly" concerned about her appearance (more worried about mine actually).
But she absolutely LIVES to be late! I've told her that if somebody offered her a million dollars to be at the end of our own driveway on a Saturday at noon, she'd find a way to walk out the door no earlier than 12:20.
Not so much of a "vain" thing however.
Her other pet peeve of mine is here inability to realize that we've arrived where we're going. Say we're going to the Civic Center for a show. She knows where we're going, and usually what kind of hurry we're in (see above). But once the car is parked and turned off, and I'm out the door waiting, she now finds it to be the right time to pull the brush out, gather her things, touch up the makeup and so on. Kind of an "oh, we're here."
Ah, love her anyway.

Re: Is your wife or S/O vain about anything?
My family has come to the conclussion that if we need to be somewhere at 1 they tell us that we need to be there by 12:30. I hate that, but it seems to work.
Secondly, I've told her that if she goes before I do then I'm going to have the service start at 10 am. I won't have her rolled in until 10:30. That sounds fitting.

my gf will change clothes at least 5 times before settling on an outfit.
sigh

Re: Is your wife or S/O vain about anything?
Ok, mine does that too.
The added bonus to that is she leaves the other clothes laying on the bed for the cats to setup camp on, so we end up with about 5x the laundry necessary.

A typical conversation in my household:
Mrs. Clone: "I just did my toenails. What do you think?"
Me: "They look nice."
Mrs. Clone: "Do you like the color?"
Me: "Yeah. Isn't that the same color they were before?"
Mrs. Clone (looking at me in disbelief): "No they were Burgundy before. This is Venetian Red."
Me: "Oh of course. The lighting must be bad. Say, I thought you had a hair appointment today."
Mrs. Clone: "I did."
Me: "Your new haircut looks nice."

Re: Is your wife or S/O vain about anything?
Mine used to allow the cats into our bedroom and while we were sleeping - twice one of them knocked a glass of water from the headboard onto my head.
The first time we had a small argument about them getting locked out - she won that one. After the 2nd time, there wasn't even a discussion - they've never been allowed in the bedroom since.
