New WBB Bracketology
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncw/bracketology
Now, obviously Charlie Creme can only predict what might be possible for the ncaa's, but his bracketology for this week has the women at a 7 seed, and seven big 12 teams dancing, better than every other conference, save the big east, which has a bijillion teams anyways. (or, 16. same thing.) At least people are noticing them now. Lets hope for a good game at ttech, and a great showing at the big xii's!

From Charlie Creme's Monday afternoon chat on ESPN.com's The Show: http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=14771
Eric - Ames, Iowa: Baylor, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M aside, who is your dark horse pick to take the Big 12 title? Or maybe just to make it a whole lot deeper than expected? Nebraska, Iowa State, Texas? A win over at least two of the top 3 is likely needed to take the title. Anyone have what it takes? Charlie Creme: (3:15 PM ET ) I'd have to go with Iowa State. ISU is playing its best basketball of the year right now.

Re: New WBB Bracketology
i like the fact that we have moved up but i hope we end up in Min. and i really hope we dont end up playing a team like duke or nc in the 2nd round if we win the first.. so with that said i hope we can some how move up to a 6 seed
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -
Re: New WBB Bracketology
It'd be sweet if they played in Minnesota and you guys got to go up and see them play Duke or N.C. though...anything could happen!
-
Re: New WBB Bracketology
I'm not sure there is a team out there that I hate enough right now to go up against Duke. Those ladies are just kicking the crap out of everyone!

Re: New WBB Bracketology
yeah, i noticed that a few hours after i posted it. none of it's premium during the actual chats, for that hour or so that creme (or anybody else on The Show) is in there chatting. I myself am not an insider on espn, so i can't even go back and review the other topics in the chat. *5 year-old voice* "It waaasn't premiuuuum when I posted iiiiit" :-)
And it wasn't that loaded of a question...whether or not I was fishing for a certain answer, I kept it pretty unbiased. If I had listed myself as from somewhere in Texas, it would have seemed that I was fishing for some Texas love. ;-)

Re: New WBB Bracketology
Think SIX. Unless we win the BIG XII tournament, a six is about right. We're likely a 7 now, could move up with 2-3 more wins. We should beat a #11 and have a chance against a #3, especially if we get to play in Minn. I'm hoping for any scenario which gives us a chance to make it to the second week. That would be a great reward for these kids and a real plus for the future of the team.

Re: New WBB Bracketology
I think that's a really good analysis. A strong showing the xii tourney could bump us up to a 6 seed, which as you pointed out would be most beneficial! even as a 7, we could quickly find ourselves in a game against a two seed. There won't be ANY undeserving two seeds in this tournament. Prolly will be a lot of 2 seed-deserving teams that get 3 seeds as well. gonna be uphill the whole way

Re: New WBB Bracketology
the way i see it if we can keep up this run we will be in good shape for the tourny.. right now i have to say i am pulling for us to get the 1rst round buy in the big12 tourn and then beating prob neb then prob A&M who we have beaten b4 then im hoping baylor comes out on the other side just because i really dont want to play OUand i think we have a better shot against Baylor then we do against OU.. and it is in Oklahoma.. and the last time we played the Bears we didnt have Medders

Re: New WBB Bracketology
both polls have us ranked at 28th and the rpi has us at 27th according to cstv.com and also on that site they have us as a 7 seed and if we win we would more then likely play Maryland in the 2nd round according to that bracket.. that would be interesting..

Re: New WBB Bracketology
Based on realistic hopes -- If we can't be a six, next I'd choose to be an eleven seed. Getting lined up against that 3 seed in the second round is key. The matchups against any of the projected 1&2 seeds is scary at best. The Duke and Tennessee draws in particular will be murder. The 3&4 seeds, you can bet some there will be some upsets there. Any team seeded 5 or higher, if we play great, we should win.

Re: New WBB Bracketology
Color me a homer, but I could see these ladies making an elite 8 type of run. Been awhile since we have had this much inside and outside balance and we have a fearless PG who won't backdown. Hope they keep playing the way they are, could be fun to watch.
