Re: KXNO - Jon's at it again
The big ten adding games to its schedule would only continue its "isolationizm" As proven in the championship game this year, the big ten looks really good when it plays other big ten teams - continued inbreeding produces an inferior product.
And the Iowa game means everything - the chance to silence the arrogance is worth the risk of inflating it.
Better bowl game over beating Iowa? personally, I'd take the Iowa win - national respect will come only with extended winning seasons, that will be nice, but beat Iowa in the meantime.

I love how one of the guys on KXNO says this would be a good idea since it would extend the Big 10 season to near Thanksgiving. Would it really do this or would they keep the schedule on the same dates? Its not like they could play 13 or 14 games instead of 12. If they wanted their season to extend to Thanksgiving weekend, they could do it just as easily by keeping the 8 game schedule.

They're not adding games, just substituting one or two non-conference games with conference games.
Extend the season by having a championship game.

Re: KXNO - Jon's at it again
I honestly don't see what the problem is. If you want to go to the game get a $90 ticket from Iowa or pay the low end season ticket price from ISU and sell off the games you don't want. It's not like we are denying them means to go to the game. This is basically what we ISU fans would have to do as it's not been easily lately to get tickets when we go to Iowa due to them selling out season tickets. Heck some people were paying over $200 a ticket for the Ohio State game last year so what's $75-$110 less than that to see ISU.
Really, the media just needs to let it go. Pollard is not backing down and all the whining and complaining is not going to change anything.

While I don't think they should be feeling completely comfy, they sure don't have a reason to fear us in '07 based on what took place last season.
However, I don't see Iowa being all that much better as a team. Their record will most likely be improved - it helps when you don't have to play OSU and Michigan. Just as it's nice when we don't have to tangle with Texas and Oklahoma.
I fully believe if Chizik can get our offensive and defensive lines to be better than last year - we have just as good of a chance at beating Iowa as they do beating us this fall.

Iowa-ISU is the biggest game to the fans. No dispute. It's complete insanity and very fun to boot.
Should it be the biggest game to the fans though? What earns ISU more exposure, recognition and the prestige we so desire? A win over our in-state rival that isn't all that and a bag of chips? Or Big 12 foes that are annual national powers?
We as fans have to ask ourselves what's important to us. I want the exposure. I want the recognition. I want the prestige.
You continue to be one of the biggest idiots on this board. clone52 is absolutely correct. Get off your high horse. You don't get recognition for being 1-11. It seems as if you try way too hard to be the perfect fan. All you end up doing is making yourself look stupid. Sure, a win over Texas would be nice, but beating Texas while going 1-11 isn't going to lure any more recruits to ISU than if ISU beat UI. Why not beat the **** out of thos arrogant pieces of white trash to the east of us?

Why not beat the **** out of thos arrogant pieces of white trash to the east of us? You know what, I live in Iowa, as do many of the people on here. Therefore, I have to interact with those people on a daily basis. Does my year go smoother with an Iowa State win, you bet it does. Everybody who knows me knows how much of a Iowa State fan I am. So when we lose to the Hawks, my cell phone blows up. When we beat them I get to call all of them, it is much more fun to make those calls than receive them.
BTW, it's called talking trash, it is something that fans do. There are certain things that fans don't do, like root for Iowa ever. You will never see an Aggie rooting for a LongHorn, or a Cowboy rooting for a Sooner or vice versa. The fact that I have read people on here saying they root for the Hawks sometimes is just sad, especially when they are on here all the time trying to tell us what to think, and name drop like it's their job.
Now, if I still lived in Texas, then yeah I would trade a UT or A & M win for a Hawk win in a second.

Ok, I am slightly confused. I'm pretty sure we are agreeing with each other. I am also saying that if we are going to get only one win, I hope it is Iowa because I, like you, have grown up listening to the feces that is spewed from the mouths of hawkeye fans.
I was responding to ISUFan22, not clone52. I said I agreed with clone52.

Re: KXNO - Jon's at it again
I'm listening to my stream recording of Miller's show right now. You guys were right....this is a lot of whining.
If anyone has any interest in hearing it, for some reason, let me know and I can probably upload the file of it.
Lots of big sister whining here on the show today. Boo-hoo, Iowa can't afford to have a home/home series going with ISU anymore. Waaahhhh.

Re: KXNO - Jon's at it again
Jon is usually a fair guy but today he had his Hawkeye game face on. It gets so tiring hearing about this subject but a person can't excape it. This convo is sooooo 5 weeks ago and now it gets brought up again. Whether they like it or not, this series isn't going to end anytime soon and the Big 10 going to a 10 game schedule is laughable.
