Season Tickets: 7000 student tickets included in current numbers

I received a response from Pollard, just one day after I contacted him - yet, he apologizes for the delay.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I am out of town on a fundraising trip and have not had full access to a computer. Just like last year, our thermometer count includes the student ticket allotment that was sold the previous year of 7,000 tickets. The student section is actually 7,800 this year because we allocated an additional 800 tickets to the students. However, the 800 additional tickets will not be included in the thermometer count until we sell them.

The current number is 24,098. In reality, ISU has sold 17,098 as of this morning.

Darn. I was really hoping the thermometer was excluding student tickets. We've still got a long ways to go.

we only have still only have 6,000 more tix to go to beat last years total, since the 7,000 student tix were included in last years 30,000+. I would love to see us get 40,000 season tix this year. Have have a lot of time til kickoff too.

I just got off the phone with the ticket office renewing my tickets. For some reason I couldn't add an additional Varsity ticket online so I called them. I was on hold for about 5 minutes and then they completed by order in about 3 minutes, not very friendly I might add. Also, mailed renewals just have to be postmarked by today so I would expect ticket sales will climb even after today...maybe into the beginning of next week and then slow drastically.

Having to hold for 5 minutes is a good sign though. I'm sure they are getting a lot of calls today.

I agree and disagree.

Agree because I too was really hoping student numbers were not included. If that would've been the case, we've already broken the record.

I disagree that we have a long way to go. As another poster noted, the just over 24k is a real number as those student tickets almost always sell out or very close to it. So we've just got about 6000 tickets to sell to set a new record.

I hope we don't stop there.

Didn't someone say that the counter is updated at 11am? If so, I will be very curious to see the new number.

I'm guessing a lot of people (like me) wanted to keep their money as long as possible and waited until yesterday or today...at least I hope that's the case.

Yeah...late morning seems to be when the update it.

Like you CW, I fully anticipate the number to keep taking nice jumps this week and even into the next.

At the end of next week I'd really like to see us at 26-27k - and closer to the 27k.

What is todays deadline all about?
I ask because I am currently job hunting and want to wait about a month to see if I will still be in the area before I get season tickets.

To be assured your current seat assignments you have to have your season tickets renewed by today. Also, if you are a new season ticket purchaser, getting your money in today will assure you of your best possible seats.

One thing I just thought of....the endzone seats don't go on sale until May 1 (if there are any available). I have no idea how many renewers there will be in the endzone but you can bet that all of those seats will be sold...so there may be a nice bump in sales right after May.

Today is just a deadline to "reclaim" your seats. I think - THINK - new ticket holders have until April (30th??) to get their order in and have their NCC points mean anything.

But after today, if you had season tickets previously - they're up for grabs and no guarantee you'll get them back.

That's how I understand it.

I think non-donors can buy season tickets at any time. Seating won't actually take place until May or June from what I understand.

Plus, any orders in or postmarked by today put you in the drawing for a host of prizes.

From what I understood (and I may be wrong), if a NEW season ticket holder (and donor) gets their ticket order in today...they will be seated ahead of a new season ticket holder who gets their ticket order in after today.
