Re: This is getting a bit ridiculous
I like how someone on this site said that all the Sqwaks that are sqwaking are fans that haven't bought a single ISU-Iowa ticket in Ames previously and never had any plans to do so.
Sometimes I think if their mouths aren't running they wouldn't be able to get air to their lungs.
Re: This is getting a bit ridiculous
Sometime it blows my mind how anyone can care enough to spend time watching what "JOE HAWK FAN" thinks. I believe this site has way too many posts ******** about HAWK FANS opinions. Who freaking cares? Please include the word Hawk in your subject so I don't waste my time reading this crap/b#$tching session.
Re: This is getting a bit ridiculous
I agree with you about trying to find common sense with them.
I'm sure there are plenty of "good" hawk fans, I really do believe that hehe...but in my experience you are quite simply going to drive yourselves nuts if you try to find much logic from the black and yaller crowd.
I believe somebody here has a signature that talks about the definition of insanity.
Well, isn't looking for "common sense" (when discussing hawks) just as big a waste of time as hoping for a different result without changing tactics?
There IS something to be learned from the -situation- however..
I have noticed one thing lately when observing hawk fans....mind you, not when you're "interacting" with them. They are very much on their guard then, and are as imperious and arrogant as ever then.
But when they don't realize they're being watched....you know what I mean....when they're co-miserating at coffee time or so among fellow hawk fans etc.... it doesn't take a rocket scientist to sense that many, MANY of them see things "slipping away"
on them.
I think we should add insecurity to their list of maladies.
Moo.

I agree, hawkeye_t, though maybe not in the same way you may have in mind.
If you'll look a bit closer I believe Jamie Pollard is trying to do exactly what you suggest. Increasing our season ticket holders leads to increased revenue, which means more money for facility upgrades to increase the seating at Jack Trice, yielding more tickets & concessions being sold, increasing the overall take at the 'gate' and...poof....your Hawks get their 20%, which is also larger!
The beauty is that you can do your part to up the Hawks 20% cut THIS YEAR by buying an Iowa State season ticket. It's not too late - tickets are on sale now!
Re: This is getting a bit ridiculous
I live in Cedar Rapids and all the papers are these days are pro hawkeye/ferentz and thisn anti ISU S**T and I am sick of it. Im gald that we are going to sell more the 30k seats this year and thats gonna shut M&M and up and the fing IC and CR press. I really hate it. They complain every day about Pollard/ISU/ISU vs Iowa FB game how the game is gonna be a boring game becuz the game isnt gonna be soldout. Well to all of those Hawk fans just look how many tickets we have sold in the last 2-3months, with 3-4 to go and we have almost reached our goal. We might even over sell. Its all most at this point in the year when a Hawk fan speaks up I want to punch them in the face. I realy cant wait the game is what? 5-6 months away and the adreanline is already following, right now. Just wait for 6 months from now.
Re: This is getting a bit ridiculous
Oh ya and with the Big 10 going to 9+ confrence games a year sounds like they might be getting scared of playing those games.
Re: This is getting a bit ridiculous
make them happy, all hawkeye tickets above their 4,000 alloted tickets are $2.00. That effects them just as much as $95.00. NOT AT ALL, they can't buy them unless they are a major booster there. The only ones moaning about it are poeple who can't buy them anyway.
Re: This is getting a bit ridiculous
To be fair, Iowa never has to worry about these kinds of things. They don't need any gimmicks to sell their stadium out. If they need money for football upgrades, they just say the word and the fat check books open up.
Until we get to that point, they can say whatever they want.
And all an Iowa fan has to do is read some of the comments here to prove their point that this IS all about Iowa. My advice is to let our actions on the field speak the loudest.
