I-35 and I-29 closed

Apparently the governor said on the radio this could be one of the worst storms we've seen. I won't believe it til I see it, but I'm sure it will be a big storm. I-35 from Ames to Minnesota border is closed and I-29 North of Council Bluffs is closed! Good thing I stocked up on booze, ice cream, and a bunch of other food last night!

Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

Should get pretty bad. I'm interested to see how bad it will actually be in the DSM area.

I heard DSM is only going to get the edge of the storm resulting in 1-3 inches

I was just in Bookends at the library and they had the news on. They had a live video feed of Omaha and you couldn't see anything. Completely white. Hopefully this is one bad @ss storm so I don't have to take my 3 o'clock test on friday.

Some People see things as they are and say why? I dream things that never were and say why not? When I took this job I said why not Iowa State? Why not winning? Why not bowl games? Why not sell outs? Why not national respect? Why not us? Why not here? Why not the cyclone family?

I am in Western Iowa and it is snowing like crazy and has been for an hour. This could be a bad one.

Re: I-35 and I-29 closed

We got dumped on last night by heavy rain in the KC area. There were some tornados that touched down around 50 miles south of the metro, and a bunch of flash flooding. They closed I-35 for a while because of flooding.

Looking at the NEXRAD it looks like part of the same system is now bearing down on central Iowa. Good luck folks.

In the Twin Cities here, and me and my aching back don't even want to talk about it. Last weekend we got 12 inches of the white stuff and the same or more are coming. I've decided people with snowblowers suck. (That's snowblower envy coming through.)

The Governor is also seeking funding from the Feds for the past weekend storm damage.....it's all politics.

SW part of Des Moines is supposed to get 1-3" but I am in Waukee and they are saying 6-9" there now and possibly up past 10". I am supposed to travel down to Mt Ayr tonight to put on a meeting and don't think I am overly excited about that. How long till they close I35 going south.

Dang, and I am supposed to be heading to the Twin Cities for a wedding reception Saturday! Guess that might not be happening now.
