Anyone find it interesting that the Iowa loss to Penn State is not on the front page? Had they won, there would've been a huge article pertaining to their NCAA hopes. Also, no mention of a great road win for the Clones on the front page. I guess Ferentz promotion of a grad assistant is way more important.

I just went there, and it was on the page.
I love this debate between Iowa and ISU fans. Both sides think the DMR favors the other. Classic.

Jon, if you would have gone to school at one of the schools, you'd understand it.

Actually it's not on the DM Rag front page. As of 1:05 this is: The Register's All-CIML girls' team: Together again
The five seniors named to The Des Moines Register's all-CIML first team crossed basketball paths long ago. Yet initial impacts they made on the court remain. Add comment | | |

Oh brother....
The online version is constantly updated...new stories are constantly pushed to the top. To me, it really doesn't have a front page.
I can't comment on the print version as I have not seen it.

In the print version, both game stories were featured equally across the top. Of course, ISU got short shrift -)

Riddle me this, Jon Miller.
Two games on a Wed night featuring BCS conference games involving major State universities.
One includes a last place team, combined 26 wins, and nearly 900 miles of travel.
The other includes 2 teams battling for an upper division finish, combined 30 wins, and less than 200 miles of travel.
The Rag sends one of their beat writers to one of the games and relys on a AP report for the other game.
Can you guess which game got the beat writer? If you were an Iowa State fan, you wouldn't have to cheat to find the answer.

Can you guess which game got the beat writer? If you were an Iowa State fan, you wouldn't have to cheat to find the answer. You are stretching there Steve. Iowa was at least (self-proclaimed) on the bubble of the NCAA tournament...the DMR has an article where Stevie was lobbying for a birth. Why wouldn't they send a beat writer to that game? What was ISU playing for besides seeding in the Big 12 tournament?
Are you going to also complain because at the remainder of the Iowa article was on Page 3C and ISU was on 4C?
I've seen some of the pro-hawkeye propaganda the DMR puts out, but this just isn't one of them.

That said, I could have written Peterson's piece from home. I read more insight from ISU's point of view on the UNL release than I got from Peterson's effort.
