If this storm is as bad as they're calling for, and we get lucky and classes are cancelled tomorrow, who's down/would want to stage a massive snowball fight on campus? I heard a few years ago there were about 2,000 students in a snowball fight at Friley after a big storm, I vote to do something like that. Anyone else interested?

PS. The field south of State Gym is where Clyde Williams Field used to be. Aren't there new residence halls there now?

Count me in, do you think they might cancel? That'd be sweet.

I was living there 8 years ago - crazy how fast some of that can change.

If classes are canceled tomorrow I would be really suprised. Remember this is ISU and its very rare to get a snow day, especially two in a row. Who knows what will happen over the night but Im betting we still have classes.

Martin Hall and Eaton Hall have nothing to do with Friley. Friley is significantly further south, and hasn't really been added onto since the 1980s. Additionally, Helser Hall butted right up against the east side of Clyde Williams, and it's still there.
That 2,000-person snowball fight? That was definitely last year. It was some Saturday afternoon, when it dumped snow late Friday/early Saturday. Basically all of the UDA area came out and joined in- it was awesome! But yeah, I'd be down for a snowball fight.

I didn't know of a huge snowball fight last year, but there was one when I was living in Helser in 2001-2002 that was probably on that scale as well. The thing that I remember most about that was that some people built a piece of male anatomy out of snow on the hood of a DPS car that was parked there at the time. It was about 6 feet tall, it was quite amazing. It was a good time.

But yeah, I'd be down for a snowball fight. not that I've been there recently, but by "significantly further south" you mean like 300 ft right? From what I understand Friley and the new building basically make a "U" surrounding Helser with a little gap inbetween - and isn't Helser half of what it used to be? I swear I was told most of it was gone.
