The maximum number of tents during the 2006 season was 38. That was for the Nebraska game, and includes both private and corporate tents. (They were limited to 60 tickets per tent, for anyone who's interested.)

38 tents x 50 tickets = 1900 possible tickets available to the tents. Considering the limitations that have been set, and considering the individual ticket price, I don't think we're going to see the public getting much access to these tickets. Companies are going to use up their allotments, and $90/ticket is too much for John Q. Public to get together with his buddies, buy a tent and extra tickets, and sell them. (Say you have 15 people going in together on a tent. That still leaves either 10 or 35 tickets left available to them, which is either a $900 or a $3150 investment up front, before you even get to game day. I can't think of many people who are willing to take a chance with that kind of money on scalping football tickets.)

This tent business will get a few more Cyclone fans in the gates, but overall, it's not going to have a huge effect.

Re: What is the Iowa game going to look like?

I agree with almost all the posts on here.

Theres no way in hell that come Sep. 15th that JTS isn't full.

There is a lot riding on this game this year. ISU better come out with guns blazin' and sights set on those chokeyes. we REALLY could use an '05 repeat where iowa never gets inside the red zone.

JP had BETTER not go back on his decision...it's a good one, stick to it JP, shaking things up is what you know how to do, keep it up! The Cyclone Nation is behind ya!

Hopefully the day where ISU can sell out all their season tickets within their own ranks of Cyclone fans isn't too far away...

Re: What is the Iowa game going to look like?

Cyclone fans will be buying season tickets before the game just to see that game too.. trust me we have an average of 45,000 cyclone fans at most of last years games, and an additional 10,000 fans come out of their holes just to watch the clones play nebraska or iowa, those people that come out for those games only will be buying their season tickets probably right before the game. After the spring game, the Ticket office should make anyone requesting to buy season tickets to sing the ISU fight song just so we can single out the kawks

You're forgetting that a lot of Hawk fans probably know our fight song from the last time they played in Ames. They probably heard it 5 times before they left in the third quarter...

Pollard has proven himself at every step in his career at ISU so far IMO. There is NO, 0%, nada, no chance that the stadium is not packed. In Pollard we trust!

Re: What is the Iowa game going to look like?

If ISU sells 38,000 season tickets, we are not far from a virtual sellout. Remember that the visiting team gets 4,000 tickets. So if we would sell 38,000 season tickets plus the 4,000 visiting team allotment would make 42,000. Now you can add in the tent sales and the like. I think you will find that will make every game a virtual sellout.

At this point, I would have to say that Pollard's move is a resounding success. We have almost equalled last year's sales and it is the beginning of March. And this is taking place with a big jump in ticket prices.

Pollard's vision includes bowling in the South end of the Stadium. We need to continue selling tickets so we get up to at least 40,000 season tickets. That way we can justify the expansion.

A sold out stadium of fans will watch the Cyclones win 31-3.
