What is the Iowa game going to look like?

I know it's early but any predictions on what we're going to see? How many fans? Even if the stadium is only 3/4 full it will be worth it to me knowing that Iowa fans are not in the stadium.

My prediction is that as soon as the game gets closer you'll see some kind of ticket pack available for the game that includes the Kent State game and possibly others.

No chance they have a pack. Pollard is committed to this program and if he backed off now he would look stupid.

Since Pollard said that there will be no multi-game packs or single game tickets available, and that the ONLY way to get a ticket was to purchase season tickets, I really hope they don't go back on their word and create a ticket pack like you speak of. I sure don't expect them to.

I do think they'll find a way to fill the remaining seats though. Maybe they'll be donations, or maybe it will be just an extra large tent event. I expect a spike in season ticket sales just before the season starts bringing the total to about 37,500-40,000 (some probably think I'm nuts) and would be dissappointed at all if every one of those season ticket holders, a few thousand from a tent event plus the few thousand iowa fans from their allotment is all that's in JTS come the Iowa game.

Tent sales, he will offer tents to wells fargo, prinicpal, pioneer, etc. That will sell it out. No chance there is not a sellout, too much $$ at stake.

I agree, if Pollard offers a pack deal for the Iowa game, who will listen to the same thing next year when it happens for the NU game?

Through the fire and the flames we'll carry on.

i agree too. people arent buying this year waiting for that package deal. so when he doesnt give it, that guarantees a sellout for the nebr game next year. less money this year but way more next year when everyone finally understands that they have to buy season tickets. JP isnt looking 2-3 months down the road...he is building this dept for years. he will sacrifice one sellout in 2007 for 7 sellouts in 2010.

Here is how I look at it. JP better hope that we come away with a victory. Because in that case it wouldn't matter if there were Iowa Fans or empty seats not cheering for their losing team. Either way the stadium would be just as loud.

Now if we lose, and go down bad; there will be a lot more empty seats than what we started with Im sure. And this would not show great things for Fan support.

Looks like a lot of us were right. He is offering a tent package deal. Max of 50 Iowa/ISU tickets. However, the Iowa tix aren't on-sale until April 18th it looks like. LINK

Through the fire and the flames we'll carry on.

That max is only for the smaller tents right? Not the larger corporate tents and such.

If the corporate tents are the "auxilliary" tents around JTS, then yes, there is still a 50 ticket sales limit. After the 50, you will be required to purchase a season ticket.

No way my main man. No way Jamie Pollard can go the package ticket route for the Iowa game now. If Jamie goes and does a package after he said only season ticket holders go to the Iowa game, he will have NO credibility whatsoever.

My hope is that since Jamie went down this road, that he sticks to his guns and lets the chips er tickets fall where they may.

I'm behind Jamie 110% and like Jamie says if this doesn't work we will try something else to fill Jack Trice Stadium!

Here's looking forward to the spring football game.

Go Clones dump Bobby Knight and the Red Raiders!

Wow,

I think most of us thought that the tent option was JP's out if we're sitting at 40K tickets.

Looks like this setup cuts out the possibility of any big donor(s) swooping in and saving the day - short of having to buy season tickets beyond the 50 than can come with the tent.

Of course I guess there's technically nothing that keeps Wells Fargo Mortgage Accounting from getting a tent, then Wells Fargo Mortgage secretaries pool, and Wells Fargo Mortgage janitorial staff, and Wells Fargo Mortgage Finance, and IT, and receiving, and processing, underwriting, closing, customer service, etc and so on.........
