Could the game be cancelled tomorrow?
I didn't really consider it before, but if my work is cancelled, I mean it's got to be crossing the minds of people, especially considering TT has to fly in.

Re: Could the game be cancelled tomorrow?
Most flights into Des Moines here are cancelled, so you definitely have a credible point.

Re: Could the game be cancelled tomorrow?
If the game were tonight, I would bet it would be canceled. Everything is supposed to die down tonight so I'm guessing everything will be good to go by tomorrow night. TT should be able to fly in tomorrow.

But doesn't the visiting team get to have a practice on the court a day before the game?

I don't know if that's rule or preference, but that's usually the way it works. The visiting team comes in the day before (at least). Meaning, I don't know if TT can postpone the game just because they couldn't get in Friday - should they be able to get in Sat morning.
Another relevant question might be how does TT get here? Commercial or private? If they can get in late tonight on a private flight......

Re: Could the game be cancelled tomorrow?
Most Major programs have private flights. I think like Mo Valley teams usually have to take commercial flights.
Kansas has their own 737 or something.

Re: Could the game be cancelled tomorrow?
Our team typically flies out of the Ames airport for conference games, so I would summize that the TT raiders will fly on a smaller jet straight into Ames as well. Since the game is not until 7 they should be fine if they get in Late tonight or early Sat. We would hold a practice the night before if we were in town the night before, or after breakfast if we were there day of. That was under Larry though, so I am sure it is Bob's call on the whole thing!!! Doubt they can cancel the game though if they can get here by lunch tommorrow.

Re: Could the game be cancelled tomorrow?
It would be hard to cancel this game because all the other games starting next thurs are counting on it. They would have to make it up on sunday or monday to get it finished before the tourney starts.

Re: Could the game be cancelled tomorrow?
They would just move the game to Sunday afternoon if for some reason it couldn't be played.
Remember earlier this year the Iowa/Northwestern game got moved back a night when NW couldn't get into IC the day before the game.

Re: Could the game be cancelled tomorrow?
Things change, but, during the post game interview last night Fennelly said the ISU WBB team's charter was grounded in Lubbock, but, expected to get back today. Major airports are usually open within hours of the end of the storm.
As tight as the conference is, we really couldn't just cancel the game. Nebraska has a home game with OSU next Monday which is the result of a storm in Oklahoma.

Re: Could the game be cancelled tomorrow?
looks like most flights into DM right now are either slightly delayed or on time so I'd say it's "game on"

GAME ON. I like it, makes me think of Wayne's World...hockey in the street.

Re: Could the game be cancelled tomorrow?
I just heard that ISU WBB team left Lubbock and is expected in Des Moines about now. The last thirty miles will be the toughest. If Bill Fennelly can do it, Bob Knight can do it.
