So, when does everyone think the record will fall? We are only ~2,000 away at this point.

It depends on if they add in tix over the weekend. Assuming they don't, I'll say we top it by next Friday with postmarked renewals.

I've got to say, I thought we would really be streching it to get to last year's total. With the price increases and the poor season last year, I guess I thought the fan base would be more reluctant to buy.
Obviously, I am wrong. Looks like we should blow past the record by Monday.
I am very proud of my fellow cyclones.
From a $'s standpoint, I would guess the combination of higher prices and more tickets will bring in $2-3 million more than last year.
Anyone agree/disagree?

I'd really like to see how many NEW season ticket holders have placed orders by Feb. 28.

That's probably close. Probably closer to to $2 million if we just sold the same as last year. Regular season tickets increased $90, Varsity Tix $70, hillside $25, students $25(?), and endzone $25. Say an average increase of $60 per ticket @ 30,000 tickets = $1.8 million. If we can get 5,000-10,000 additional new season ticket holders say at an average of $300 per ticket = $1.5-$3.0 million. With the increased NCC donations, I don't think it would be out of line to estimate an increase of $5 million next year.

dont forget that 28,000 number only includes an estimated 7,000 student tickets...and 7,800 have been alotted. theoretically we should be able to sell out of student tickets and we are actually only ~1,200 short.

Another thing to consider will be the increased parking revenue that they will be getting too. Between all the lots. That is a $50 increase for all people that had it for free last year.
As for when we break the total. I expect that the number will be broken today or monday. The last few days each day the number has increased by 2k a day pretty much so I imagine it will only take a couple more days. Though next friday at the latest.

The whole gameday experience is getting to be a pricey event.
2 tickets: $100 (only about $60 for my Varsity Tix)
Case of Beer: $20
Tailgate Food for 2: $15
Gas from DM: $10
Grass lot Parking: $15
Food/Drink during game: $15
Total for each game: $175
Season Total: $1,225
Of course, it's worth every penny. But you don't really think of how much it actually costs to go to a season of ISU football. Next year or the following year, I really hope to add:
Bowl Game Trip: $500.

Has anyone in the AD ever said why there is a limit of 7800 student tickets? It's not like we turn people away at the gate because there is nowhere to sit. Why not sell 10K or more? 7800 is only 1/3 of all students-seems we could be hitting that market deeper, plus once you get them hooked as students, more will keep buying if they stay close to Central Iowa after graduating.

Probably $$$. One full price ticket is worth almost 3 student tickets.

I doubt any students would be denied tickets after the 7800 mark is reached. There are just a certain number of seats blocked for students only and they don't want to commit more seats to that than the student body will purchase.

We've added 800 student tickets this year, and the students need to keep the student section filled in order for that number to increase. Unless you're talking about selling 10,000 tickets for 7,800 seats, then I think we're good just about where we're at.

I don’t care… I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it… let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."
