The top three finishers in eash weight class is automatic bids to the National tourney. The wild card bids are the best 8 wrestlers that are not in the top 3 in there respective weight classes.
Going straight from their rankings we have 8 wrestlers ranked in the top 3 of their weights. We also could get maybe one or two from the wild cards.
The conference tourney will be a real test of where the program is. There have been many times in the recent past where ISU has went into the conference tourney with highly ranked wrestlers who fell to lower seeded wrestlers. If ISU can avoid that pitfall, it will be a sign that the program has taken a big step forward.

Since I believe there are only 5 Big XII schools in the meet, and the rankings being as you say, it looks like 8 would be minimum. And aren't 7 of our starters RS freshmen?
Cael isn't messing around waiting to make an impact.

Actually there are 6 that are RS Fr. Yea I am hoping that 8 is the minimum that is if we wrestle to our rankings. In the past ISU has not exactly done that in the Big 12 championships.
I saw that it is on FSN but it is not going to be live in Iowa. Is there anyother way to watch it live???
It won't be live anywhere. The FSN broadcast is tape-delayed the whole way 'round. I think the first showing isn't until the 9th.
Cyclones.com will have live updates. Takedown Radio will be broadcasting live on the net (takedownradio.com) all day. I think Intermat is doing PBP for finals.
