I think it does a good job of stating the situation at Iowa State. If he goes 10-2 in Ames, as stated in the article, he'll get more than the key to the governor's mansion! Here's to realistic people--as opposed to the craziness at 'Bama.

If he goes 10-2 next year he can have keys to my house.
Re: Article about Chizik/Pollard on ESPN.com
Good Story. Chizik will make ISU football better than ever and he will kick EIU where the sun don't shine next year in ames
Go Clones!!!

If he goes 10-2 or even 9-3 he can have the keys to my fiance...wait I don't have her locked up anywhere, crap. Then I guess I don't even need to give him keys.

Well-written article. Even mentions our past without taking gratuitous pot-shots at us, like some publications.
Re: Article about Chizik/Pollard on ESPN.com
Just makes me more excited for the football season to start...why is it only March!
Re: Article about Chizik/Pollard on ESPN.com
Great article! Gotta love the straight forwardness of this guy. He's determined and never has a second thought about anything.
Re: Article about Chizik/Pollard on ESPN.com
I am suprised that it referred to us as a "solid program".......wow, have times changed.........

Well there is only 43 more days to the spring game! That is something to look forward to.

"We haven't gone through the door to the other side, and if you take us through, you can write your own ticket," Pollard said. "The last coach at Alabama went 10-2 and it wasn't good enough. Go 10-2 here and you can have the keys to the governor's mansion."
Pretty much sums everything up. I'll take 10-2 EVERY YEAR (That's prolly good for several BCS bowls, no worse than Holiday Bowls, and wins over EIU, Knebraska, Mizzery, K-State Colorado, Kansas, and North titles almost every year)

"Football is an intense game," Chizik said. "It's a higher level of everything. I'm intense. I'm a perfectionist. And when I don't get what I want, I put the pressure on them to give it to me. That's what makes this game great: heated moments, intense moments, the up-and-down roller coaster. It creates a bond like no other."
I dare someone to tell me we didn't hire a guy with the right mindset.
Re: Article about Chizik/Pollard on ESPN.com
Some said Pollard was crazy to believe he could find a coach better suited to win at Ames than McCarney. Some said Chizik is crazy to believe he wouldn't have landed a more attractive position than Iowa State, and that no coach can win a Big 12 championship there.
"I never look back," Chizik said. "And I never will. But look, I've been doing this for 21 years, and I haven't made a bad move or a wrong move yet."
What a great article! I love the explanation of this year's recruiting class and I love the self-confidence! As a long-time ISU fan and alum, I'm conditioned to doubt things. Even so, I'm excited enough that I've renewed my season tickets in February and increased my giving level to NCC! Hope springs eternal in Cycloneland!

Re: Article about Chizik/Pollard on ESPN.com
Crap, I'll just be happy with 6-6 next year OR 1-11 with that win being over IOWA:)

No offense but I doubt he'd need her. If I remember from the press conference he already has a pretty good looking wife. :biggrin9gp:
