OT: MVC Tourney

I assume one of you left me the negative rep for not liking UNI so I'll explain myself. I went to the last couple games we played at UNI and was less than impressed by their fans and particularly their students. I've always not been fond of their fanbase for its constant jumping on/off the Hawkeye bandwagon and my personal experiences cemented my dislike of them. I assume you guys are cheering for Iowa since they are a state brother and beat us as well? Hey, I don't care if you guys want them to win, cheer for 'em all you want.

I don't care if you don't like UNI and it wasn't me who left you the negative rep. I was just wondering what your reasons were. I found out and understand. I went to the UNI v. Illinois St game last Saturday and sat in the student section. Their fans don't seem any different to me than most fans but I do get your point on how they jump on/off the hawks bandwagon

No problem...we all have different teams we like/dislike, just part of being a sports fan.

I hate UNI but I found myself pulling for them late for some odd reason. Good game either way, it entertained me. Arch madness is a gem of a tournament.

I'm not sure why some of you dislike UNI so much? Maybe it's because I'm married to a UNI graduate, but I've always thought their fans are fairly good. I'd have had a lot more trouble with Hawkeye fans.

For goodness sake, our basketball coach is a UNI person...

You know I had the same argument with one of my Missouri Valley apologist friends. I think that Southern will lose the first weekend of the tourney, because they will be in foul trouble. I think that Creighton is in the same boat.

The Missouri Valley protects the hell out of SIU and Creighton. Over the years, it has cost the conference a lot of money in terms of post season bids. I guess that is why they will always be a mid major, no matter how much noise they want to make.
